I groan internally. My name is Mariah Cruz. I'm 17 years old and starting my junior year today. My Father, Mark Cruz, is the current Beta of our pack, The Royal Moon Pack, and my mother, Jennifer Diaz, is the Beta female. My Brother Josh Cruz is 18 years old and a senior in High School. He is training to become the next Beta when our Alpha, Jason Adams, decides to retire and hand the title to his eldest son, Nick Adams. Nick is 18 and is also a senior in high school. He is also my brother's best friend.

The group of princesses behind me made a squeal as the young man sauntered out of the crowd into the clearing in the middle of the hall. “Deucalion,” I whispered, looking at the selected prince. I couldn’t see most of him from where I stood, but he had beautiful black hair just like Valerian just longer, reaching almost his waist. He wore a red jacket over a pair of red trousers. He caught my stare, and I instinctively turned back to the announcer. He pulled a parchment from the second box and having already been caught staring at the handsome prince, the thought of having the dance with him was no longer appealing.

Grayson says. “I mean, I don’t care, but your Alpha might. I suggest running fast before he catches on” Audrie says with a snicker. Grayson’s eyes narrow at her but I just I laugh, “I’ll see you later Aud.” Looping my arm in his “take me away Beta.” We walk over to where Zac is still talking to the gentlemen from before. Zac’s face lights up as he sees me and I can’t help but smile in return. “Thank you, Grayson. Alpha Austin, Alpha Raymond, I’m proud to introduce, Luna Isla Miller. Hun, these are the Alphas from the Great Council.”

I ask curiously. "Oh, this is my favourite," Crimson says. "It's you at your engagement party." The world seems to shudder to a stop, my entire attention zeroing in on the photo. "I'm engaged?" I whisper. I better not be engaged to that older man... "Yes, of course." Crimson points to the younger man. "This is Vade, a Prince from Territory Five. You two were engaged the moment you were born. His father is great friends with yours." Nasuea twists in my stomach.

This, I knew, was exactly what we’d both needed. “And you must be Scarlett,” Mum breathed, bustling us both inside. “You’re just as beautiful as Enzo said you were.” She blushed. “Thank you.” “I’m Geno,” said Dad, shaking her hand enthusiastically. “Enzo’s father, and the last Alpha of the Moose Creek pack. I trust our son has welcomed you into the fold?” Scar nodded so hard I worried her head was going to topple off. “Of course he has. He’s been most welcoming.”

Due to these kinds of movies, Raine somewhat accepted what Raeyan and Yris told him about this supernatural world and supernatural powers. Also, of him having supernatural powers, too. Ice, right? Raine thought when he recalled about that princess that Raeyan and Yris told him he was the incarnation of. An ice princess… he thought, then suddenly recalled a children's story about a snow queen. This princess, named ‘Alf’, should have the same powers as this snow queen. And if this princess ascends the throne, then she would really become a queen. A snow queen.

Fiona's eyes narrowed, panic-stricken as she pushed the hair from my face. The second she saw my features, she let out a gut-wrenching yell. "Cole! Cole!" Alex was stunned. So was everyone else. "Ms. Emerson... his name isn't Cole, is it? The guy who brought him said his name's Chester..."

Xander raised his hand to quiet them down. “Thank you all for all your prayers and love. We will start with the good news and then the bad”, Xander boomed, everyone now paying close attention. Selene stepped forward with her son and Xander held onto their daughter with Xavier and Nahla right next to them. “We’d like to formally introduce to you, your future Alpha King, Prince Lennox Alston”, the crowd erupted into cheers as Selene showed a sleeping Lennox to the crowd. Xander cleared his throat, “And this here is the future Queen of Andora, Princess Loralei Alston”, the crowd applauded and cheered at the sleeping beauty.

But yes, he should have told me. "That's great Landon," I mutter, forcing my lips to quirk up in a resemblance of a smile. He let go of my hand, and the absence is slightly depressing. "Alpha Dallas is as intimating as they say, and Alpha Kaden is scary as hell," he rambles. Both are leaders of well known packs. I nod along, barely listening. I just stare into his eyes, enjoying the spark of enjoyment in them. He's just that much cuter when he smiles. It reminds me of our childhood together.
