Rebirth and Contracted to the CEO

Rebirth and Contracted to the CEO

Her hand, gentle on my arm, belonged to someone known for giving much. “You handled that with such grace, my dear. Most would have been mortified.” Grinning now, I shifted closer as time slowed. Then warmth spread through me while everything else faded. “Family mishaps build character,” I replied lightly, launching into a short, charming anecdote. “Last year at a small gathering, my cousin accidentally knocked over an entire tray of desserts right in front of important guests. Instead of panicking, she simply declared it ‘modern art’ and turned the evening into a tasting competition. We laughed about it for months. Sometimes the best memories come from the unexpected.”

The Retired Gang Leader.

The Retired Gang Leader.

Don't you start with m-, shh answer his question. "I did, I already ate three times today but I'm just really stressed and when I'm stressed I get hungry and cranky," I explained and he nodded while sipping his beer. That beverage doesn't look nice right now. Why did I ever drink it? I vow to myself to never touch a beer ever again. "Oh okay. So as I was saying, Jamie didn't want to tell his annoying mother to fuck off so I did it for him, hilarious right?" He laughed and I looked at him confused. Which part of this sentence is funny?

Loved this story!! Lotus and Antonio are a mess but so perfect for each other. Love reading books where the main character is a Black girl like me and she finds love. Definitely reading this book again. Wish their was a sequel or a book about Tiff & Charlie.

She Belongs With Me

She Belongs With Me

"I thought I knew how to make an omelette. I guess not." "Don't beat yourself up, or should I say cut yourself up?" "Haha, that was terrible." "It was good, it was a good joke," "Then how come I'm not laughing?" "Cause I think you cut up your funny bone too," Marcus couldn't hold back his laugh, "that made no sense, at all." "Yet you laughed, so mission accomplished. When I was a kid, my dad would make a bunch of dad jokes whenever we got hurt just to distract us from the pain, they were rarely funny." Marcus chuckled. "But it's the effort that counts, huh?"

Claimed by the Alphas

Claimed by the Alphas

Life’s so unfair, man. “What does a spoon matter when we’re literally stuck in the middle of the woods with invisible monsters, shady, bad men and whatever else creeps around here? Can you please, for once, use your brain and kick some sense in the gear?” He whisper-hisses, so red in the face, he reminds me of a tomato. “You could join a casting for vegetable commercials looking like this,” I remark and laugh at the brilliant joke my brain just reacted. Shit, am I not the funniest guy out there? Look at me - sense of humor, looks, body and an impressive spoon collection, I have it all, damn it. No wonder my little vixen couldn’t deny me.

Winning Back His Ex's Wife's Broken Heart

Winning Back His Ex's Wife's Broken Heart

The comedian on stage was pretty good, cracking jokes about everything from bad dates to the weird things people do at the grocery store. I glanced over at Sarah, and every time she laughed, it was like a little weight lifted off my chest. Halfway through, the comedian launched into a bit about couples, poking fun at all the little things people do when they’re comfortable around each other. I leaned over to her, smirking. “That’s us,” I whispered. “You know, minus the weird grocery stuff.” “Oh, please,” she shot back, rolling her eyes. “You’re the one who insists on checking every single expiration date like it’s a life-or-death decision.”

Taboo: Ties and Sins

Taboo: Ties and Sins

“You put it on every day before the uniform. But some things manage to pierce through.” That was when they discovered a peculiar, dark humor that only those who flirt with danger every day can cultivate. They started laughing at things that would horrify an ordinary civilian. Vick told him about a thief who tried to escape by jumping into a trash can and got stuck. Devon laughed about a situation where an angry cat attacked the crew during a minor kitchen fire, making it more dangerous than the flames themselves. They laughed not because the situations were funny, but because the absurdity was a necessary release valve. It was a secret language of survivors.

Beneath The Mask

Beneath The Mask

They’ll never hurt him—or anyone else—again. For now, though, he’s here with me, laughing as he shares some embarrassing story about the first woman he tried to date when he came home. Apparently, he fell asleep in the middle of a movie because he was so bored. The way he tells it, I can’t help but laugh, and I retaliate by sharing one of my own cringe-worthy dating disasters. We exchange stories, one failure after another—awkward moments, embarrassing dates, and epic disasters. The conversation flows easily, and for the first time in what feels like forever, it feels right. Perfect, even.

Her Duchess: The Billionaire's Hired Bride

Her Duchess: The Billionaire's Hired Bride

Jasmine said. "Hold on, hold on! I've got a joke that might lighten the caloric guilt. Why don't scientists trust atoms?" Jonathan said with a pause before adding, "Because they make up everything!" "Just when I thought I had heard your corniest joke," Florence said and rolled her eyes. The others burst into laughter, their mirth contagious, which made Clare smile. "Okay, I got another one," the young earl said. "Why did the scarecrow win an award?... Well, because he was outstanding in his field!"

Hello author, I just want to say that this is a great story and we’ve enjoyed it so much and that it would be a shame if you ended it here but we would understand if you could no longer continue to write it for personal reasons but we would like to know, will you continue to write or not? Thank you.

LOVE BY CONTRACT

LOVE BY CONTRACT

What just happened? I was still reeling by the bizarre incident. “Did I just get prepositioned by a guy barely out of his diapers?” I didn’t know whether to laugh at the ridiculous encounter or rage. Bobby and Jonathan stared at me not knowing how to react to, then as if a screw fell off we began to laugh. Deeply with no care to how late it has gotten, we laughed until my eyes felt wet. “What the hell!” I cursed through my laughter, choosing to find the whole encounter humorous instead.

A Joke That Went Too Far

A Joke That Went Too Far

"You have no idea–I was just joking around, but those disgusting guys went crazy asking me for your contact." The old me would have already been crying, asking her how she could do this to me, voice breaking. Not this me. My teeth clenched so hard they hurt. My whole body trembled with anger. I snatched the flyer out of her hand and slapped her across the face. Tara screamed, clutching her cheek in disbelief. "You hit me? I treat you like my best friend, and you can't even take a joke anymore?" Best friend? I let out a cold laugh.
