A white light came from underground and charged towards the tree. It was an adult Moon Ape. Standing 20 ft tall, with long arms and short legs, its roar was as powerful as a black bear's. With its mouth wide open, they could see its unusually sharp teeth. The ape climbed to the top of the tree; it roared at the intruders, and then it started gathering energy to construct a magic circle. In a second, a white beam of moonlight shot at the intruders.

Liora screamed desperately as Aiden suddenly shifted into full pup form, gold fur strong, jumping from her arms and running toward the door. “No! Aiden!” she cried, tears blinding her. The pup stopped in the moonlight, surrounded by the remnants. Eyes gold—welcome? The remnants knelt in respect. “King pup,” they seemed to murmur. Liora reached out, desperate. “Aiden… baby boy. Come to Mommy. Home. With us. Love you forever.” The pup whimpered, silver fighting the gold. Slowly, he ran into her arms, shifting back into human form, crying softly.
