The top-right corners of the pages keep crumbling into charcoal. I stare at the burnt diary. This is the diary of someone who must have gotten seriously hurt in that day’s blast, I think. Not many people survived the blast; I was one of the few who did. The diary is in bad shape. It doesn’t look as though the person to whom it belongs would have survived the blast. I open the first unburned page. There is no name. Just the initials—RD. ‘You’re late’, Shrey looks at me and says.

I say in a mocking tone. His eyes go wide in disbelief at my words. " Ouch, beautiful, no need to rip me apart yet, we just met yesterday," he bellows out, faking hurt as he places his hand over his heart. " If you don't mind I would like the chance to actually review my notes before class starts, so if you could be quiet now that would be great," my tone coming out flat and annoyed. I really did need extra time to refresh my brain, history always made my brain hurt at how boring and repetive it all was. Death and chaos mixed with some joy in between. I don't think my brain would have such bad brain farts if we were studying Eyptian history, at least they have mummies and pyramids with curse

I start to write, my hand moving quickly across the paper: "Dear Diary, Today is the day I decided to spend an entire day naked. I know it sounds crazy, but I just couldn't resist the urge. I'm going to do everything naked – watch TV, eat, clean the house, maybe even dance around a little. I'm not sure what possessed me to do this, but I'm excited to see where the day takes me. Wish me luck!"

I immediately flipped through the diary. Page after page. Searching. Desperate. But there was nothing. No explanation. No notes. No names. Nothing. Only the symbol. I slammed the diary shut. "Dammit." Frustration exploded through me. I threw the book onto the desk. "How am I supposed to connect all of this?" I pressed both hands against the edge of my desk and lowered my head. As she searched her bag for the comb, she found the small handpocket sized diary that she bought in a thrift store a long time back. She opened it and skimmed through the enty pages of the book when a crazy creative idea popped up. Smiling to herself, she picked a pen from the nearby table as she decided to write about all the beautiful memories she had with Ronan the previous day.
