I let out a deep sigh and forced some of the ire from my voice, “You scared me, Micah.”
“My apologies.” He grinned, a smile that reminded me of the child-like Micah, the one I had poured my heart and soul to those times at the creek. He approached the rope railing beside me and turned his eyes to the sky. Even at night, the sky was bright with deep shades of black, purple, and navy blue. “This is one of my favorite places in Eleah, that’s the village were currently in.”
“The sky here is beautiful.” I murmured, glancing over Micah’s strong form before looking up into the sky. I couldn’t help but trace my eyes over his pointed ears, remembering the Micah I knew had looked very much human.
