Chapter 181 As the arrow came whizzing for my stomach, out of reflex, the hand I had resting on my stomach shot a ball of fire to incinerate it. “What the hell?!” I hissed in anger as Arnou and I jumped apart just in time to miss the second arrow that went whizzing past me. Did the human world even have arrows? I thought they were meant to have more sophisticated fighting materials. Disappointing, honestly. “Daciana, go back to the car,” Arnou commanded as he looked straight ahead at the open door where the arrows had come from.

“Don’t waste the arrows. You never got back the arrow you shot at the lake’s surface.” Cory counted the arrows left in the quiver: twenty-four arrows excluding the one made from Anestra’s quill. She could not fire that dark arrow until she was absolutely sure it would hit Anestra. The ash brown beast was acting strangely.
