I grimaced. Eos snapped her finger. I squinted my eyes to see magically two flaming horses, the color of dawn, came out of thin air throttling towards us, pulling a chariot. Eos yanked me up to my feet when the horses stopped beside us before shoving me into the chariot. Fiery chains magically appeared out of thin air around my wrists. “What are you doing to me?” Fear dripped from my words. “Sending you to eternal fire. Your soul will fuel the dawn. Your perpetual punishment will bring forth the new day.” Eos hissed as she slapped the rear of one of the horses causing them to begin to gallop away. “Enjoy your damnation!”

Twelve flying horses blazing with golden fire pounded across the clouds, lighting up the entire sky as bright as day. "Selene, get out here!" Apollo's impatient voice cut through the chamber doors. Helena quickly gave Chloe a push. Supported by the temple attendants, Chloe carefully stepped out through the doors. I dragged my weakened body to the window and watched the spectacle outside with cold eyes. Apollo stood by the chariot, didn't so much as glance at her, let alone offer a hand. "What's taking so long? My patience has limits." He tossed out the words coldly and climbed straight into the chariot.

The Gamma then looks at me sadly as he watches the Beta move closer to the three of us. I am not surprised the Gamma would be disturbed. It is their role to protect the Luna. In this case, there was nothing he could do. The Alpha did not trust us. He did not trust his fated mate. I understand now that the Moon Goddess is cruel. To bring another into my life so quickly only to be taken away is devastating. I feel anger rise within me at this treatment.

Aris, the lead scientist from the Ravine, ran in, his face ghostly pale. "Elena, you need to see this," he gasped, gesturing toward the observation deck. "The sensors on the 'Lunar Chariot' are picking up a massive thermal signature. It’s not from the Earth, and it’s not from the Moon." We hurried to the deck, the cold wind whipping my hair across my face. Aris pointed toward the horizon, where the sun had just set. There, hanging in the twilight, was a faint, violet smudge. It looked like a bruise on the sky, pulsing with a rhythmic light that made the hair on my arms stand up.

Orion opened his eyes slowly, blinking back the darkness curling around the edge of his sight. The darkness gradually cleared and the world around him came into focus. Around him, there was nothing but an endless abyss. Black stretched infinitely in every direction, swallowing sound, time, and sense. And yet, in the center of that void, a figure hovered before him, radiant, serene and untouched by the darkness around them. It was the goddess, Selene and somehow, the most innate part of him recognised his maker.

“Demeter—Mother—she called you Hades, so I assumed…” Thanion’s gaze softened slightly, though his lips twitched in amusement. “Mother,” he repeated, as if tasting the word. He shook his head and gestured for her to follow. “Come. There’s much to see.” She trailed after him, her curiosity warring with her anxiety. They arrived at a grand courtyard where his chariot awaited, flanked by three magnificent stallions. Their sleek, pitch-black coats gleamed like polished obsidian, and their eyes glowed faintly, burning with intelligence.

it asked, the words dripping with amusement. Suddenly, realization dawned on me – this was Selene, the Moon Goddess, speaking to me. My mind reeled with questions. Was I dead? How was I connecting with the goddess? "You're not dead, my omega," Selene reassured me, "but merely unconscious at the moment. You have successfully fought off the darkness and halted the chaos." Her praise filled me with pride, and I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me. However, Selene's next words were laced with caution. "I must warn you, the battle is far from over. Remember, my omega, you possess powers beyond your wildest imagination. Trust in yourself and your abilities."

Mac cast me a subtly concerned glance, obviously picking up on my increasing anxiety. Henry approached the chapel with a stoic expression. Elena and Emma ceased their chatting when they noticed our presence. I glanced at Elena, trying to ascertain if she was handling the herb's effects well. "Elena, the last place I want to show you is a chapel where we pray to the moon goddess," Emma explained. Elena listened with interest, oblivious to any potential harm.
