— By the time she returned to the healing den, the sun was already lowering in the sky. She placed the herbs on the table, her movements slower now. Their words echoed in her mind. She was never fit to be Luna. Ariana closed her eyes briefly. Was that how everyone saw her? Was that how Marcus saw her, too? Her hands trembled slightly as she tried to organise the herbs. “Careful,” a voice said gently. Ariana looked up, surprised. An older woman stood near the den's entrance. Her name was Mira, one of the seniors.

I answer her nervously. "Wow, it's beautiful. You're so pretty." She says with a cute smile showing off her dimples. "Hi I'm Lexi..." She reaches her arm out and I grab it giving her a handshake. "Are you new here?" She asks. "Yes I am.. I'm Morgana.." I say to her with a light smile. "Oh, Well, welcome to Baxton High. The best high school in town. You made a good choice coming here. We have the best food and the best teachers and the best boys too..." She says with a grin showing off her perfectly white teeth.

"I know, but Damon…" My mother had suddenly appeared at the door, attracted by the brewing noise; her eyes had grown wide as she spotted Damon and Cassandra half-naked.
