Prying my finger off my son's fangs I handed him to Azrael and watched the old elf's smile widen. "Hell-born as well…what a combination," he chuckled. I told him his name and he was pleased. "That female is Morgana and she's familiar with Ahdun Redmiu as he is her mate in the fae sense," Azrael said solemnly and I introduced myself to the lovely woman. "I must feed my child before we go so he doesn't inadvertently kill his uncle or grandfather with his killer venom," I mumbled softly to Azrael, making him chuckle.

“Then we carve one.” Barbie hovered higher, a halo of blue fire sparking from her hands. “You two have no idea how much I’ve missed a good massacre.” “Remind me never to piss off a fae,” Marigold muttered. “You won’t have to. You’re practically one now.” Before I could respond, the first Fang charged — feral, shrieking, claws raking the stone. We moved together — instinct, rhythm, fury. Marigold shifted mid-leap, her wolf bursting free in a blaze of dark fire and silver eyes. Barbie’s light flared, a storm of blue lightning that cracked through the mist and scorched the Fang to ash.

His Beta, Selene, covered our left. Lina, who I’d brought against my better judgment, covered the right. I found The Fang’s leader in the middle of the camp. A massive wolf with a scarred face and a stolen Redwood cloak. He grinned when he saw me. “Beta Aria,” he said. “You came to die.” I didn’t answer. I attacked. He was strong. Stronger than Vex. But he was slow. Too used to fighting scared wolves. I dodged his first swing, drove my knife into his thigh, and when he stumbled, I ended it.
