Woven into the ring was the shape of a dragon; a creature that reminded me of Ransom's first shift, but not quite; and an owl. The next blazing ring sat outside the mate ring. Stretching from under my breast to the top of my hipbone. All of my family's animals were depicted. Which now included a deer. Even Lukas was shown. A big O with a line running through it. At the section closest to my hip bone was another animal. I couldn't quite tell what it was, but it had beautiful wings. Atlas crawled around on the floor behind me. With his electronic pad, he raised it, aimed it, and I heard the sound of a camera shutter closing. He took multiple pictures from a variety of angles.

‘You like to get to the point, I see.’ Artemis growled loudly. ‘I don’t have time for this.’ Artemis took a stance that showed she was ready to defend herself and rip this wolf’s throat out. The other wolf was a silvery grey, with stark blue eyes and black paws. He was smaller than she was, so she knew this wasn’t an Alpha wolf. Maybe a Gamma or worse; a rogue. The grey wolf pounced towards Artemis and as he jumped, she slid underneath him and caught his belly with her paw, while grabbing his back paw with her teeth. She flung the wolf away from her and the wolf let out a small yelp.

he replied, holding up a paper bag like a peace offering. She glanced over her shoulder at him, eyes bright despite the shadows beneath them. “You’re forgiven.” He sat beside her, resting his arm behind her shoulders as he peeked at the sketchpad. “You’ve already drawn half the café. That’s ambitious.” “Vision,” she corrected him softly, tapping her pencil against the page. “I want to do this right.” Artemis studied the lines on the page—the graceful curve of the windows, the soft awnings, even the tiny vines she had penciled in along the side. “It looks like you,” he said after a pause. “Comforting. Bright. Just a little quirky.”

Summer had just begun, there was no reason she was charging so much to digest that information. When Artemisia stopped running her fingers through the yellowish leaves, there was a drawing made with charcoal and graphite at the beginning of that page. It was the drawing of a tall being and almost all made by shadows, Delfine tried to make a scenario for that thing, but all the young woman could understand from the scribbles was a half-open window and a crow in the chest.

The hawk sat on Amaris' arm for a few moments. It had a dark back and wings, and a white under belly with thin black stripes. It was beautiful. It spread its wings and flew up into the air. I searched for it desperately, and when I smelt fresh rain I clung to it, using it to breathe through the pain and distract me from the other cracking sounds that rattled through me. ‘You can look now,’ Artemis’s voice came through and I felt numb as I took a huge breath in, opening my eyes. I was still a bit shorter than Arche and when I caught a glimpse of our paws, they were a very light brown colour that bordered on blonde. It was different not being the one in control, Artemis moved on her own, pressing her face under Arche’s head, as her vision panned over to where Wyatt and Alaric had shifted.

Artemis is coming over as well, still clutching his satchel. “We gotta go! I was just talkin’ with Saph and then she disconnected the link out of nowhere. Somethin’s wrong,” I say angrily. I have the worst feeling- Saph is in trouble. The four of us shift back to our wolf forms. Archie’s wolf is brown and white like mine, except he doesn’t have pink-tipped fur. Brickland’s reddish and white wolf strides beside Archie, and Artemis’ rust-colored wolf runs next to me, his satchel full of magic orbs held firmly in his jaw. His wolf is thinner and smaller than mine, but he is keeping up well, despite being a hybrid.

Artemis asked, still smiling. "Why Artemis?" Fallon asked. "Well if you aren't busy, let's drink together and chitchat" "And why Artemis? Are we friends?" Fallon asked coldly. "But you...." "Just because I had a drink with you one time, doesn't make us friends" She said cutting Artemis short "I was just hoping we could be friends, you're friends with Kent, right?" Artemis asked. "Wheather I'm friends with Kent or not, got nothing to do with you, and just for you to know, I don't make friends with anyone" Fallon said and walks away, with her bow and arrows dancing as she walks.

The massive golden figure turned into a stream of light and rushed into Artemis’ body. Buzz! The black mist vibrated. The Soul Collection Coffin absorbed a great amount of deadly Chi once again. Artemis, who was covered with the demon bugs earlier, recovered to her flawless, fair appearance at once. She closed her eyes and broke free from Rashomon in the blink of an eye. In a brief moment, she tore open a void rift. The rift was different from the normal void rifts as it was gold in color. Artemis casually threw an object at Alex. The next second, she rushed into the void rift and disappeared without a trace in the blink of an eye.

When we were inside a sigh of relief washed over me. “Don’t wander too far from me,” Artemis whispered into my ear. To anyone that would have sounded sexy but I was on edge, and I picked out the under meaning of his words. I nodded yes, trying to extricate from him, his hand snaked behind my waist and planted a kiss by my side. The gallery was huge and extravagant, painted with white. Portrait hung on the wall. They were all beautiful pieces and communicated to anyone that cared to pay attention. Just passing by the work, it would be mistaken as rubbish and trash and dirt but upon sparing a meaningful glance at it a whole new message would be decrypted and deciphered.
