I chuckled because Artemis seemed to hate the water just as much as I do. She turned her little face up to look at me and made puppy dog eyes at me with a little lip pout. Her eyes were two different colors. Her left eye reminded me of Wyatt being a dark blue sapphire color with little golden flecks throughout it and her right eye being a pure molten gold color with dark blue sapphire flecks throughout it. She looked like Claris, but with Wyatt’s hair and nose, but I could easily imagine her looking like me. I stared into her eyes and smiled again.

Fenris leaned in closely as Lillia casually shuffled through a small pile of books, long after her maidens had left for the night. Securing it even further. “What are you doing?” He raises a brow, looking at me. “Reading, obviously.” “I see you’re reading a book on wolf biopsy upside-down?” I look at the book in my hands, and just as he had described, it’s a gory book with very vivid pictures of organs and the likes, turned upside-down, exposing my lie immediately.

I could just find out what Artemis meant by looking on my phone; it wasn’t something I was used to, but I had learned how to use a cellphone at Ardale, and I knew how to search online. But Artemis wanted me to be at the library. ‘I like the smell of books.’ It was weird hearing another voice in my head. At first I thought it was my own, but now that I knew it wasn’t, I could clearly hear the difference between my thoughts and hers. Her voice was deeper than mine, stronger and happier, I guess. But even if I asked someone to go to the library for me, it was unlikely there would be many books in there that I hadn’t already read at least once.
