I sighed. I turned to the first story and started reading. I read story after story. Some were interesting, some were familiar, some were bizarre. Then, more than halfway through the book, I found it. The very first line read, "There once was a young girl. Her wolf had no name." It was titled, 'Child of Stars', kind of fitting since my Dad's wolf is Starfire. My wolf chimed in with her usual pessimism, 'It won't help.'

I suggested, showing her the page. “No!” she shouted. I sighed. That was one of my favorites, because it told of the first beta, and I always thought of mine and Reid’s friendship. I flipped through the book some more until I ended up back at the very beginning. Nate's face broke out in a charming smile and he came over to me again and plopped his butt proudly on my bed. My heart skipped a beat as I came to a realization. This is the first time I'm ever being hugged. My cheeks heat up and I wrapped my hands around Nate's back and cherished the feeling of warmth and contentment. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all. **Artemis P.O.V.** I woke up to something heavy weighing me down. When my eyes opened there was a large black wolf with its head on my stomach. I wiggled uncomfortably as my body felt stiff. I winced a little as a pain in my ribs reared its ugly head to life. As I wiggled the wolf turned to look at me and I gasped when I saw its cobalt blue eyes. ~ “That’s Tafari. He is Armand’s wolf”~

“We won’t give up yet.” “No, we won’t.” Milo agrees, walking over and placing the tray of snacks next to me. He leaves me wordlessly, taking a seat and grabbing a book from the pile as he settles into his chair and opens the book. I skim through the journal, skipping usual entries discussing the way the weather may affect the wolf if the moon remains hidden during a long snow storm or the likes. Artemis’ ancestor was really into documenting every single fucking thing. Except the oath that is torturing me.
