Regina "I can't let darkness stop me from moving forward," I thought to myself. "I have to push through and face whatever challenges lie ahead." With renewed determination, I took a step forward, ready to confront the unknown and trust in my instincts. I knew that I could find a way to overcome any obstacles and reach our destination. I took a deep breath and prepared to face whatever lay ahead.

Just steady certainty. “I know.” The door closed behind us. And the day moved forward.

Then, I moved. And everything erupted at once.

But this time, I wouldn’t be waiting with open arms and diminishing hope. I was moving forward. With or without him.

And without another word—He moved forward, but aster this time, no longer holding back. Because now…There was no more time left.

The blow left me dazed and unable to move for what felt like an eternity. "Help," I managed to whisper weakly. Angelica frowned in disgust. "Jeffrey only hit you once. How much could it hurt? Stop pretending. You're just embarrassing yourself in front of all these people." My head spun, and I wanted to argue. But no words came out. Jeffrey must've been wearing something hard on his hand, maybe metal. I could only grip the nearby railing tightly, shielding Tommy with everything I had. In the haze of dizziness and pain, I finally heard a familiar voice.

He spoke fast, his words betraying his intentions. Not waiting for Paula to reply, he prepared to walk away but Paula's next words stopped him. "You weren't the one who made a mistake Len. I was the one who stuck to you like a fool." She uttered, her lips spreading into a small smile. "Six years have passed but you still remain the same as before. Since we are going to be working together anytime soon, I would like us to bring all our personal issues aside. As you can see, I don't really mind but it's you I'm worried about. We just had a simple dance but you brought up what happened in the past."

Not anymore. Not ever. Even when I wanted to. Especially then. I just kept moving forward. One step at a time. Until I got to wherever I was going. Wherever that was. Whatever it looked like. With or without Damon. Most likely without. And I had to be okay with that. Starting now. Starting here. Even though I had no idea how. I'd figure it out. Somehow. I had to. Because there was no other choice. Not anymore. This was it.

The music filled my ears. Before I could second guess myself, I moved forward toward my future. Towards a new life. Towards my mate, my lover, my King.

Much, much worse. “Come on,” I say, doing my best not to let my annihilation appear. “We have to keep moving.”
