Christmas in ashes

Christmas in ashes

“My resonance. My Solstice blood. You cannot deny what she is.” “I know exactly what I am,” I snapped, shaking. “I’m the girl you terrorized from the shadows. The voice that followed me into nightmares. The thing that wore my mother’s voice like a costume.” The temperature dropped sharply.Pain flickered across his face.“I never meant to frighten you,” he said. I laughed,a sharp, broken sound. “Oh, that’s hilarious.” Gideon cleared his throat, hands glowing faintly as he began arranging ritual symbols. “King of Frost, you are not welcome here.”

Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

The words sounded arrogant, yet neither Asher nor Atticus objected. Nyx was Andrew's woman, and she had every right to say that. Suddenly, a sound like tens of thousands of high-voltage power lines humming at once spread across the sky. In the next instant, a world-shattering pillar of sword energy burst from the heavens. With Andrew at the center, it swept outward in all directions. Asher, Jakob, and Atticus all stared up in utter shock. They saw the five martial gods strike at the same time, their five violent streams of power weaving together as they shot toward Andrew.

Reynir Kjartansson
Very good story and the ending was relatively good since each part of the story give a obvious closure. The audio book is also available the whole story. Other authors should follow this example. There is nothing worse than a forced ending or a cut off story, so this story gets all stars, great job!

Ashes of Six

Ashes of Six

It was possession. Elias’s voice rose over the chaos, sharp with runes I’d never heard him speak before. His hands burned so bright the air warped around him, each sigil etched like a brand into the dark. Flames roared higher than the treetops, licking across the battlefield in jagged arcs that cut down mercenaries too slow to shield themselves. He wasn’t weaving illusions anymore. He wasn’t calculating costs. He was burning everything that stood between me and him, and if the whole forest went up in ash, I don’t think he would have cared.

Bloodied Ashes

Bloodied Ashes

Kael (POV) The ash came first. It slid downriver in a thin gray current, scattering through the reeds before the wind carried it inland. By the time it reached the clearing, it was only dust in the air, settling across the shoulders of those who waited. The pack stood in a wide ring, faces lit by a pale flame at the center. The night smelled of smoke and wet earth, a scent of endings that refused to fade. I stood apart near the trees, where the light thinned. The hum beneath my skin had been building all evening. It started low in my bones, then spread outward, into the ground itself, into the air that held its breath.

Ashes of Longing

Ashes of Longing

I hadn’t washed it yet. However, when I examined the collar, my fingers paused. The button was loose. The thread looked new, like it had been forcibly pulled. I crouched down and opened the shoe cabinet. My pair of hospital slippers sat neatly inside. The soles were clean. I remembered clearly that the last time I wore them, there had been a faint yellowish stain from disinfectant. Now, the soles were gray-white, as if someone had deliberately scrubbed them clean. My breathing tightened slightly, but my expression didn’t change.

Unchain: The Sacred Curse

Unchain: The Sacred Curse

Aengus snapped. Azrail was the god of death who was tasked by Aengus in picking up the souls of the dead to bring them to the god of life, Asher, who on the other hand, was tasked with the reincarnation process afterwards. "Yeah. Yeah. Will you just shut up? Any words that come from your mouths are just irritating me," Abbadon said in a tone that is void of emotions and care while ignoring all the piercing glares that the other gods and goddesses who don’t like his very existence are shooting him.

Ashes of the Northern Pack

Ashes of the Northern Pack

Then, they transformed. Two massive wolves snarled and lunged, brawling in the ashes. Ash and soot clouded the air as the wolves clashed, fangs bared, fury unleashed. They didn’t stop until they were completely spent. Finally, they collapsed apart, panting, scorched and scraped. Jones slumped down, face ashen, despair written in every line on his face.

Brothers of Ash and Fire

Brothers of Ash and Fire

We men dream dreams, we work magic, we do good, we do evil. The dragons do not dream. They are dreams. They do not work magic: it is their substance, their being. They do not do; they are. ¨DUrsula K. Le Guin,?The Farthest Shore
