"I am Tarian." He responded, taking a small step towards her as he spoke. "Tarian please, I am of no use to you. I am no one. I am worth nothing. I am begging you, let us go." Astria argued, hoping that he would see reason. He smiled widely. "Let me see what you look like under that hood."

She’s a tall and willowy woman, with a regal air about her. “You must be my niece, Supreme Luna Morrigan. My name is Tàri and you obviously know that I am your uncle’s mate.” She says to me, putting her hand out for me to shake. Leland must have told her not to hug us after our reaction to him. Well, at least she’s respecting my boundaries at this point. She asked him instead. “I’ll find my fellow mermen here.” “Suit yourself.” She said. “Just take care of Yntreia. I’ll see you later.” She followed Margarette as they went through the thick crowd. She saw a lavishly dressed Kapre smoking his famously favored tobacco. There were also heavily armored Dwarves, having a contest in arm wrestling. She caught glimpse of some winged women called Harpies, circling above ground. They kept on going until they reached the Virsathen’s tree trunk.

She shot out of the turn right as the finish line approached, Greg just inches behind her. They crossed the line so close together that for a moment, no one was sure who’d won. Then the timer confirmed it. Astrid by 0.3 seconds. The silence that followed was deafening. Astrid pulled off her helmet, her hair tumbling out in a wild mess, her face flushed and grinning like a maniac. She looked absolutely incredible, dangerous and beautiful and completely untamed.

“Father, you can’t be serious. There’s no reason to wait—she deserves the truth.” I gulped, my eyes darting between Arman’s angry stance, Kian’s worried expression, and Kaveh, who stood silently by the window holding his daughter. My heart pounded so hard I could hear it in my ears. Elias Zarvan. The name was not familiar to me in any way. My head was starting to ache. Elias raised his hand, silencing Arman with a single look. “Enough. Do not argue with me on this. You will all do as you are told. Astrid needs time to recover. That is what matters now.”

She had dainty gossamer wings and long pointed tips to her ears. Astrid was tall, lithe and blond. Her hair braided into several sections that all came together into one long thick braid that came over her shoulder and hung to her waist. She had the most purest pale blue eyes and her pale complexion was covered in freckles. She looked strong and fierce like a warrior but grinned with a friendly warmth as Aria shook her hand. "I am pleased to meet you." Astrid said, her European sounding accent thick. "As am I." Yolanda agreed with a matching welcoming smile as she also shook Aria's hand.
