Ahmed shook his head as he let out a chuckle.
“Why are you wearing a mother’s day shirt?” Niya asked Anas. That statement made me take a closer look at him. His shiny chestnut hair was styled backwards and his cheekbones were standing out more than usual making him look like someone who lost weight. Also, he was wearing a mother’s day shirt, just like Haniya had accused.
“And you look like you lost some weight too,” I said in concern. “What’s wrong? Did you fall sick?”
“Don’t bother yourself Ameera, he joined Ahmed’s gym class sessions so that he can have muscles to impress one girl like that,” Niya explained with something that was meant to be a nonchalant yawn.
