Audio Books Through Library Novels & Stories

I can play you songs and read you audiobooks…’ ‘Okay. Okay, Alexa. If you can’t get me to work or get me food, you’re pretty much useless.’ She jabbed. ‘Technically, I can order an uber and pizza. Walking through the doors, I hear the shower running, but the door is closed and music blares from the other side. I pop in my earbuds, hoping to drown out the music with an audio book. I typically prefer reading physical copies myself, but given the circumstances, I would hardly be able to focus on the words. I've read entire books and not remembered a single thing as the words blended together in my mind. Laying back, I hold the bowl of fruit to my chest as words fill my ears, but I’m not paying attention to what they’re saying. Just a string of sounds filling my head in an attempt to drown out the sound of my own thoughts.

She plucked one book after another, reading the titles aloud with the excitement of a child at an ice - cream shop. She carefully selected a few promising books, cradled them in her arms, and found a cozy corner with a plush chair to sit herself comfortably.

She had the idea of quickly taking photos of the pages so she could read them later. However, the librarian woman shook her head. "No, you can't. I stopped at the library door and smiled to myself. ‘Books are better than people. Books don’t hate on you for something you didn’t do.’ I pushed the door open and breathed in the wonderful smell of books. ‘Paradise.’ I strolled to the shelves and scanned through the books, reading their names off their spines. ‘It seems Dante wasn’t joking when he said half of his library was filled horrors.’ A book caught my eye, and I pulled it from the others. “Bone and Souls by B. Brian.” I read the name aloud and skimmed through the description behind it. “This seems interesting.”

he gave me a small smile and I nodded in return. I left him sitting on the floor, at the encyclopedia corner. We both knew what our goal was, we were not going to stop until we completed it. I guess there was something in common between Beta and Iota after all, their drive. I headed toward the Literature corner, searching for books at the isle of fiction. Our library follows the Dewey Decimal System, so I headed towards CAN. There were four shelves of books dedicated to authors with the surname starting with CAN. I heard myself sigh; this was going to be such a long search.

But the amusement in his voice told me he found the idea ridiculous. Different genres of books line the shelves, their spines whispering promises of forgotten tales and undiscovered knowledge. “Woah, how did I not know of this magnificent place?” Joy bubbles within me at the sight of this treasure. “Did Damon intentionally put that painting to lead me here?” My voice echoes in the vast underground library that looks the size of three chambers. My steps quicken, and I begin to explore the books on the shelves. There are lots of books- ranging from history books, to mind building books, fantasy, and other about the principles of being an Alpha. Other shelves have folktales, and even romance novels.
