Audio Books Through Library Novels & Stories

ISLA'S POV Wednesday. 9:47 AM. The second floor of the Astoria Public Library smells like industrial lemon disinfectant fighting a losing war against the scent of decaying paperbacks. I find a computer bank near the back, tucked away from the children's section where a toddler is currently screaming. I plug in my headphones—cheap, wired earbuds I bought at the bodega for $3.99 because my wireless ones died and I can't afford the electricity to charge them, let alone a replacement.

“Oh, come on.” Before he could stop me, I snatched his phone from the cup holder and immediately started scrolling through it. My expression twisted in horror. “Jaxon.” “What?” “There are no songs here.” “There are.” “No, there aren't. There are podcasts, recordings, battle reports, and what appears to be an audiobook about military strategy.” Daniel snorted. Ryan looked mildly interested for the first time all trip. “What kind of psychopath drives for hours without music?” “The productive kind,” Jaxon replied.

she replied her and when she noticed the worry on her face, she said, “Be at ease. There is nothing to worry about.” Like a spell, Amber suddenly felt relaxed and she walked to one of the shelves before pulling out a book. A frown came to form on her face and she pulled out few other books before placing them back in its place. Turning her body to look at the woman, she said to her, “Your library is for cookbooks, flower characteristics and Animal instincts?” “Mm, what were you expecting?” the woman answered, not looking at her and Amber scoffed. “I thought you might have some fictional books with some genres like Teen, Young Adult, Billionaire and Romance but I can’t find any of that right

Next three books were about sacred space, Wicca, and a fiction book about ghost hunters that had been re-shelved wrong. I let out a sigh, checking my phone. No responses from Jezza or Melanie. Halfway done with the books, I haven't found any information, but my stomach is growling so loudly that the librarian nearest me glares. I put a reserve notice on my books, then hustle up to a chicken place and eat. Then I trek back to the library.

I still said hoping it didn't sound harsh because I was just saying this randomly or maybe not very random. “He probably thought you wouldn't be interested. It's nothing” She assures me. “Of course”. Rietta moved inside the room and I followed. As I walked in after Rietta the strong woody fragrance of old books hit my nostrils. I took in the smell for a while before going in for the visuals. The library was a small one but it was filled with lots of old books. “This is the special alpha library. You can read whichever book you want till dinner” She said to me. I smiled at her for her generosity.

“That is really thoughtful of you, Luna, and I would be happy to help. You can make yourself comfortable, and I will fetch the books. Any particular preference?” Ariel looked around the library; the walls and aisle were lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and there were soft velvet sofas arranged in the corner for reading. “Not really, just books about 7–10 years ago about pack history. Bring as many as you can find; the more, the merrier, right?” Ariel gave him a sweet smile that she knew people could barely resist and that the man was practically melting beside her. “Of course, Luna, anything for you.” Aaron went deeper into the heart of the library, and Ariel took to looking around.

I step away from them, trying to take a deep breath. Right. This place definitely has a vibe similar to SeraphFall’s library. The sound of my own footsteps echoes in the library as I look around for an itinerary, keeping the closed door in my periphery. I find it all the way across from the stairs, an enormous tome with faded ink. As with everything else, I can read it easily. “What am I even supposed to look for?” I murmur, needing some kind of sound in the deafening silence

Now, we just can’t fail. I sighed, sometimes arguing with her was moot. Leaning back, I didn’t really need to do any of my homework anymore. I could look up some practice tests for the GED, but I was too tired to start down that rabbit hole. Scrolling through my emails, I saw one from the local pack library. Miss Cross, We were able to get the information that you requested. We have set aside the books for you to browse at your leisure. They will be held till the end of the week and you can request them at the front desk.

"Feel free to explore the collection if you wish. Books takes us to places we’ve never been, feel free to read anyone of your choice.” I couldn't help but be awestruck by the sheer magnitude of knowledge that surrounded her. I ran my fingers along the spines of the book gently, marveling at the countless stories waiting to be discovered. Tau led me out of the library while leading me to a music room filled with an array of instruments. Grand pianos, violins, and harps stood as elegant witnesses to the melodies that had dignified the room. Soft sunlight filtered through stained glass windows, casting a colorful dance on the polished wood floor.

There was a deafening silence the moment I enter the library just as I expected, this is the place that I go with every time I have free time because not everyone goes here, students don't fancy coming into the library anymore and do their research here since google is already available in just a tap of a finger. I went to the far-end corner of the library where I hide an old and very outdated book entitled 'Werewolves Anatomy'. This book is the reason why I keep on coming back to this library, the librarian doesn't let me borrow this book, she said that if I want to read it then I need to read it inside the library since the book is expensive and a limited edition, that being said, I don't
