I was glowing and everything was glowing around me too forcing those in front of me to shift back into their human. “I’ll protect you.” The Goddess’s expression became serious. “He will become your guardian.” Aurora watched in silence. Then the memory changed. She saw herself older. Eighteen years old. Standing before the Moon Goddess. Her mother, Elara, was beside her. Her father, Orion, stood across from them. The Goddess spoke. “The Devourer has awakened.” Aurora’s heart tightened. She already knew this part. But then something happened that she had never seen before. The Moon Goddess looked directly at Darius.
