"He might need to borrow Toru till we find Milo," I whispered, looking back at the road then glanced at Lyle again. "We'll have to call Everest."

One of the Elders, wearing a brown coat and sitting in a wheelchair, cleared his throat. The elderly man named Magen glanced at Aryadi and Linda. Magen looked at Alvaro sharply. “Alvaro, you surely understand that Hugo wouldn't know about this base if he himself went around sniffing the grass under his feet.”

All she could see were shadows of familiar figures. Ailene was the first to appeared from the forest. She was almost like another patch of snow amidst the greenery, a small group trailing behind her as if a procession. Faline dropped her jaw when Levi Lewelyn showed up next. He was bulkier than the last time she saw him, which was already over sixteen years ago, with his dark hair reaching the nape of his neck and the tan of his skin darker.

Dustin shook his head, "It's called waking up in a good mood. Y'know, excited to start the day and all." The guy rolled his eyes and turned to walk through the parking lot. His eyes focused on me, as I was standing in his line of sight. "You're the newcomer my Dad told me about." The guy nodded, walking up to me. "That's me." I chuckled breathlessly. His gaze was intense, making my hairs stand on end. "I'm Liam, my Dad's the Alpha." Liam nodded, a smile forming on his face. "Raelynn." I nodded, returning his smile.

And then. Haden let out a low murmur before pulling her in closer to him, "You," he said, "It's definitely you." She froze in his grasp, her eyes still wide, set firmly on Leo. "What's your name?" He asked but Lia didn't respond. "Lia Loren, age 17 from Triton," Leo said deeply, emotion practically undetectable in his tone but upon examining his face, I could see it deep and repressed. "The Alpha's sister..." Haden said, getting a proper look of her. "Nice to meet you, Lia. I'm Haden."

Nevaeh turned to glance at Lyle and added, "You better think long and hard about this, Lyle. You're a cop, and not one of Raidon's lap dogs. Are you sure you want to side with these corrupt troublemakers?" This infuriated Lyle greatly. He was already feeling incredibly humiliated at the hands of Raidon, but he had no way of letting his anger show, for fear of offending Raidon. This scrawny, nameless twat, on the other hand, he could bully for all he liked. He would not live down the humiliation of being threatened by a gawky adolescent like this!

And ages.” I took it but didn’t turn back. I couldn’t see Callie with this stranger in my room. “That’s nice work,” Lyle murmured. “I like what you did with the mouth. Most people would’ve missed that, and it would’ve given the whole thing up as a fake.”

“So yeah, they are alive but neither has been awake since I was a child and I think it’s related to the loss of their wolves from grief.
