Lyla appeared at the Hudde Passage and stood at the entrance. She observed the seal for a while, then poured her Genesis into it. “Come out and see me, Forty-nine!” However, she did not receive a reply. Lyla took a deep breath and said again, “Release Yunleiv! I’ll take his place instead. I’m at a higher cultivation rank and have a stronger Genesis. I’ll be a better option if you want to improve!” Her calls were unanswered, and she began to get anxious.

I whispered worriedly, glancing at little Toru who was trying to cheer him up, licking his cheek and neck and playfully nipping at him. "He might need to borrow Toru till we find Milo," I whispered, looking back at the road then glanced at Lyle again. "We'll have to call Everest."

He reached into the air and pulled a handful of the black butterflies, turning them into a bridge of violet-grey starlight that led to Hope. "I’m coming for you, Sister!" Leo roared, his runes turning a steady, brilliant emerald-silver. But as he reached the center, the Black-Emerald Heart exploded. Hope didn't emerge as a girl. She emerged as the Avatar of the Nineteenth Cycle. She was fifteen feet tall, her body made of liquid obsidian, her hair a river of black-emerald fire. She raised her hands, and the Stone-Dolls around us began to wake up.

Leah sat in her old living room on the couch next to her brother Gabriel, and watched as her father played games with Hannah and Carter. She had brought the children so that her father could spend some time getting to know them. It had been a while since he had really spent time with children, so she felt it was a good idea. And the pups had so much fun riding on her dragon’s back to get there. Leah had been nervous since no one has ever rode her dragon’s back before, and she was afraid they would fall off. For that reason, it ended up taking twice as long to get there than it usually would have had she been flying alone.

Ryder raised his eyebrow and stared at her with amusement for a good long time before saying, “Walk.” Lyle jutted her chin out, turned and started moving forward. Like it was responding to her thoughts. Adrian noticed her expression. “You’re controlling it.” Lyra nodded slowly. “…I think so.” The creature lunged first. Its massive claws swung down toward the avatar’s head. Lyra reacted instinctively. The golden giant raised one arm. The claws slammed into its glowing armor, and stopped. Shockwaves blasted across the battlefield. Dust and debris flew in every direction. The avatar grabbed the creature’s arm. Then, with terrifying strength, it threw the monster across the valley. The enormous body crashed into the mountainside.
