“Doctor Brock, something is wrong with Alpha Wyatt. I need you in his office immediately.” As I turn my attention back to Wyatt, both the Supreme Elder and Doctor Brock chime, “Okay.” I quickly nudge Wyatt’s shoulder a little harder. “Alpha Wyatt wake up. Alpha, you need to wake up.” My breath hitches as his body suddenly goes limp. Shit. He is now unconscious. I quickly grab his shoulders and shake him harder than my previous nudges. “Alpha Wyatt! Don’t scare me like this! Wake up!”

Light slid along the air like liquid, brushing my skin with warmth that felt horribly familiar like the energy Rockan once told me he felt every time I lost control. Only this time… the power didn’t feel wild. It felt directed. Intentional. “Your awakening came earlier than expected,” the voice said. “The spark within you shouldn’t have ignited until your twenty-first cycle. But circumstances have… accelerated your evolution.” Awakening. Spark. Evolution. Every word sank into me like a cold stone. “What awakening?” My voice cracked. “No one told me anything about awakening.” “That is because no one knows,” the voice said. “Not even your father.”

She wished to shout it out, to rip it from her heart, but the atmosphere was too dense, choking. Lucien’s smirk twisted, his crimson eyes locked on her with sick pride. “Because you were born for this, daughter. You are the only one who can awaken him fully. And whether you want it or not, it’s already begun.” The chasm pulsed, a blast of heat surging upward, and Emily stumbled back into Alexander’s chest. The shadows roared. His hand brushed against me, but I gently moved it away. "You're tired. Just sleep," I muttered. ... I woke up early the next morning, picking out a casual T-shirt, a denim skirt, and white sneakers. I tied my hair into a bun and did my makeup. In the mirror, I looked like an energetic young girl with fair skin, a slender figure, and bright eyes. Derrick, on the other hand, was still recovering from a hangover. His eyes were bloodshot, with dark circles underneath. Luckily, his features were decent, and he wasn't that old. Once he put on the white T-shirt, knee-length denim shorts, and white sneakers I'd prepared for him, he looked livelier.

All moving with that same eerie precision. Dr. Ryans stroked a girl's hair. "No emotional volatility. No inconvenient attachments." His smile turned razor-thin. "Unlike you, Lieutenant." Jeff's pistol was out before I could blink. "Shut it down." "You misunderstand." Ryans tapped his temple. "The Lazarus Pulse already activated. They'll awaken across the globe within hours." He nodded to Lena and Mara. "Unless you trade the flawed for the flawless." Ice cracked underfoot as Jeff stepped forward—

a man's furious voice rang out behind me. I turned to see a handsome man slap a document before me. It was a divorce agreement. Carissa Winton? Suzanne? Mrs. Faust? Weren't those the important characters in a popular stereotypical melodramatic romance novel I'd just read? So, I'd transmigrated into the body of Carissa Winton, the poor female lead of the novel. She'd aborted three children for the male lead, Lincoln Faust's sake, and was dying of bone cancer.

"How can we piece together what we don't even know?" Thea took a deep breath, her gaze drifting as if caught between worlds. "You will know when the next awakening is due. Until then, however… the answers you seek are hidden in shadows. You need to prepare for a journey through secrets and fragments that may at first seem insignificant. Each piece will reveal its importance over time, but it won't be obvious at the start." A heavy silence filled the room, anxiety weaving through us. "What comes next? How do we prepare?" Despair washed over me. I froze and looked at him. "Do you really have to kill me?" "I'm sorry," Thomas's eyes softened unexpectedly. "Killing you is the only way to save you… and to save more people. I have to clean up the mess I've caused." Before I could respond, I blacked out. When I woke, I was back at the abandoned factory. The stench of blood and decay filled the air. A pile of corpses lay before me, and I was tied to a bed, unable to move.
