The Awakening Power The moon illuminated the sky as Lyra found herself solitary in the clearing, the cold air pressing against her. Her breaths came rapidly and shallowly, each exhale visible in the frigid night. A fresh wave of strength coursed through her, a sensation she struggled to describe. It felt as if every part of her was coming alive, as though her true self had been asleep for ages and was now finally awakening.

"Always." The dream is awake. The wolves of Silvermoon are real. The stories are real. The connections are real. I am Seraphina. I am the Awakener. I am the one who woke the dream. And I am still becoming. But even as I walked through the waking world, I felt a new presence at the edge of my awareness. Not a threat. Not a warning. A question. What happens now? I smiled. "Now we live. We love. We create. The dream is over. But the waking world is just beginning."

-Flashback- Barry was busy cooking his meal when he heard a knock on his door. He was in hiding because a coven of witches was hunting him. He killed a witch high priestess two months ago, and since then he has been hexed, poisoned, and almost killed multiple times.

Danny muttered and shuddered. "What bothers me even more is Wilson." Fawn continued. "Didn't they say Wilson had no ability cell whatsoever?" "Well, That's not always accurate. There have been some people in history who were said to not have a single ability cell but still awakened sometime later. Usually when they were tested to their very limits. A genius friend I used to know, researched on it as a school project. You know what his speculation was? He said that, awakening is like a destination which seemed to be have many roads leading to it. Unfortunately, humanity has only paid attention to just one of them. Mostly because that's the only one that seems logical and explainable."

"Empath awakening records. Not many, but enough to establish a pattern." "And?" "And Mira was correct. Every recorded awakening occurred under circumstances of great emotional extremity. A mother witnessing her child die. A lover suffering the greatest betrayal. A warrior experiencing complete defeat." She gestures toward the texts. "The circumstances vary, but the extent of likeness is complete emotional saturation. The sort that destroys all defenses, all shields, all attempts at mastery." "So I have to be emotionally devastated in order to tap my full potential." I fall into a chair. "That's one heck of a requirement."

I had no idea it was this late. Jace stirs beside me and I immediately turn my attention to him. "Jace! Are you awake? It is me, Amy. We are safe. Dwayne is gone," I blubber nervously. The black wolf's eyes flutter open. I stare into his eyes and with deep joy that he is finally awake. I hold his head in my hands and continue pleading. "I am so glad you are finally awake. You have been unconscious for so long. I was so afraid you would never wake up."

I think I'm about to burst with excitement. "First, you don't eat them. And second, you don't eat in front of them. If you see one, run. You don't wanna deal with that lot," he started looking at the door, like he want to run himself. "But I heard humans look a lot like us, how'd we know they're humans?" A question from Linus. Sir Maslow looked like he hadn't even thought of that. "I don't know. Just shift and if they start screaming or pulling weapons out, they're humans."

“Promise? She asked, holding up her pinky. “Yes”, I said as I passed out under my covers to a peaceful sleep until my alarm woke me to say time to get up for work. It is like waking up no matter if light or dark outside make me not a “morning person” or as I should call it, “waking up person”. I grab my phone off the nightstand to shut up the alarm. I barely open my eyes and grunt as the lights from my phone fade into my sight. It is quiet which means Tearis is not in the room. The good thing about this room is that it is the only one that has only a bathroom and shower. Weird right? I get up and get a nice warm shower like I do every day before and after my shift at work. Sol slowly stirred his tea with his spoon as he mulled over his thoughts, organizing the information in his head in the most concise way possible, before finally answering. "Humans are the sole race on this world unable to use mana from birth and also the sole race unable to use magic naturally. This situation can only be redeemed once they reach their fifteenth birthday and go through a ritual which is collectively called as the Awakening. From that moment on, they can use mana. But only mana. Not magic."

She wants to meet the woman with magical powers. "Grandma how will the lycans wake up?" Thea asked with curiosity shining in her big eyes. "There's a legend that say that the blood of the innocent soul will wake the lycan King up. The soul should be untainted, pure and innocent." Grandma told her. "However, there's a another legend which says that only the mate of the King of lycans can wake him up. They say that her presence will force him to break everything and come to her."
