I doubt I had any part in what happened the night of my Awakening ceremony. “I believe destined mates started as one being, a long time ago, before nature split us apart for whatever reason. Chapter 5 Amber was washing her face in the bathroom when she felt her power. It was heat that radiated through her system anytime she met another vampire and again after killing them. This time, it was delayed, maybe because she hadn’t fought one in so long. Over 10 years when she was living here before and had her last run in. It was high, and it helped her heal faster and energize her. She almost forgot how it felt. Almost! She decides to jump in the shower to rid herself of the existing residue left by the other vampire. The hot water from the shower always felt welcoming and soothing. Then she felt it again. This time, the power was different and like a vibration. Her whole body glowed

I passed the blood in her mouth and waited for her to wake. I ended up sleeping with her in my arms. In the morning I watched her sleeping form. I am reminded of the day we first met. She starts moving in my arms. I look at her as she opened her eyes. They were of the same brown colour as before. I am glad she remained the same Lara I have got used to only that she is now a vampire and she ages slowly compared to before. "Hey did you do it?" She asks as she looked into my eyes. Do what... What does she mean?

~Hazel~ I awoke to the van’s bumpy ride, and an uncomfortable feeling on my back. When I tried to move, I felt a pounding in my head and some burning on my wrists. The van stopped short and before I could understand what was happening something grabbed at me with clawed fingers. The wolves that had thrown me in this van to begin with were now pulling me out, their laughs piercing my ears and grating against my very last nerve as I was blinded by the white hot lights shining from the van's high beams.

What he feared most has happened. Her vampire side is beginning to come out. Just as Seraphina said it would. The awakening. The bloodlust. The uncontrollable hunger that comes with newly turned, or in Elena's case, newly awakened, vampires. She has no idea what's happening to her. No training. No guidance. No understanding of what she is. And she just ran out into the world. Terrified. Confused. Vulnerable. Dante closes the laptop with more force than necessary. Stands.

"Yes! Kill her, my bloodthirsty little servant!" "Give her to me!" She could only turn to stare up at Nicholas again, her vision blurring and distorting as her head continued to swim. Battling between reality and unconsciousness. The vampire simply stared her down. Gazing at her drained and almost lifeless expression. Hearing those sluggish and slowing heartbeats. Her wheezing breaths. There was so much blood pooling somewhere close by. He could feel the potent scent of it. Its mouthwatering aroma. He wanted to slurp it. Lick every last single drop of it. It smelled so incredibly delicious. Unlike anything he'd ever smelt before.

Ryker said, quietly. "How?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "By awakening dead werewolves and vampires… with your blood." My blood?

He froze when he saw Tyla sitting up, the last remnants of silver fading from her arms. “Oh dear gods,” he whispered, voice quivering. “It’s begun.” Arthur’s tone sharpened like a blade. “What’s begun?” The healer stepped forward cautiously, like he wasn’t sure Tyla was entirely… safe to approach. “The Awakening,” he said. “The return of the dormant blood. It only happens when the lineage is threatened—or when the wolf comes of age.” Tyla blinked. “I’m twenty-one…” “Yes,” the healer said grimly. “The exact age White Moon Wolves manifested their true power.”

I whispered to myself. The newly turned wolf continued to heave, black liquid pouring from his mouth as his body became increasingly pale. I watched as his body convulsed one last time before succumbing to a true death. It had been as if his own venom had attacked him from the inside out. I needed answers and I needed more test subjects. The fact that he had awoken a vampire, even with how brutally his short life as my progeny had ended, lent hope that an army of were-vamps was possible.

His limbs were ripped from their sockets, torn apart piece by piece. “Ah,” I let out a sharp gasp watching the gruesome sight and then realizing it was no different from what Rowan wanted to do. This scene would be a ghastly feast for any vampire, a sight that was capable of satisfying their darkest and most depraved desires - blood. And yet, this was exactly the kind of slaughter that Rowan had been craving. “Are you alright?” Alpha Axel asked me suddenly, his eyes scanning my face. “Y-yes. I am,” came my reply, with an affirmative nod.
