Award-winning Book 소설 & 이야기

“For the winner of the sustainability and accessibility award, the winner is Orion Belmont!” “...after coming to the realization that those who could not get the book will be able to access through a website, and that was how I came up with the idea of building a digital company that had something to do with books,” the words tumbled out in a rush as he walked back to his seat.” Other names were called and they were given their award just like every other person, and those who could not make it sent their PA’s. “And second to the last award for today, Readers' Choice award,” silence filled the air as the woman slowly took the name out of the envelope.

While the second voice said, “Don't let it slide. Serve her a dose of her own medicine. Ask for the microphone and say ‘Just like my sister rightly said, it is every father's dream to raise successful children. I am Daisy Macklin, an award-winning writer with more than 14 published books. With 65 of my books ranked as best sellers, one-time nominee for the Costa Book Award. And this year, one of the books got me nominated for ( The Pulitzer Prize award), and just to name a few.” Joke on her, let the crowd count our successes and decide who is more successful.

“And if you’re still serious about that ridiculous award…” I blinked, caught off guard. “The book club?” He chuckled, nodding. “Yes. If you really want to win the Best Member Award, then you’re allowed to join. That way, it won’t look like corruption when I give it to you.” “Are you sure about it? I didn't come here to ask you for the award.” “I'm not giving it to you for free. Join the book club, work for the award and get it,” he said casually as if he wasn't doing me the biggest favour.

Jarred shouted, making everyone laugh. CEO Reyes chuckled. “Right, my bad! Rule number one in Arrow — no plagiarism!” Laughter echoed through the hall. Then he looked back at me, eyes warm. “Kidding aside — I have some good news. Our dear Sin has been nominated for the National Book Award for her debut novel, The Four Seasons of Love! For the first time in twenty years, we finally have a nominee!” Applause erupted. I blinked in disbelief. My heart pounded so hard I almost forgot to breathe.

Tiffany offered as my eyes widened in surprise before I sat with them. “Thank you.” I said softly as she nodded and focused on her novel once more. “What genre is that?” I asked her as she slowly looked up at me. “Romance and thriller.” She replied as I nodded. “I didn’t take you as a reader.” I told her as she shook her head. “I didn’t take you as a yapper.” She told me as I paused my chewing. “Oh.” I said as Maria chimed in, “so how as your stay here?”
