I do not like authority, but I truly need it and need to be put in place every now and then. I sit next to him as he begins to flip through the pages. "This one isn't too bad. Here you can make a car out of it and then you can drive the car on the road. How about that?" he suggests pointing to the picture of a car on the page. I grab the book and look at it. "That sounds fun." I agree happily. We spend the rest of the night playing around on the sofa. I end up falling asleep halfway through one game. By the time I wake up, I feel exhausted. Luckily the TV doesn't show the same show that I fell asleep watching. I glance over at Roman who's still sound asleep. Smiling, I turn off the television and get up slowly. I tiptoe over to him and gently poke his cheek.

But I won't be going back, and for that I'm sorry. I knew papa would be worried, so damn worried. I left with only just a letter that said I needed space, a confusing letter that said I don't know why, but I need to leave. A letter that doesn't even tell him he's got a granddaughter who's two months old now. “Just…. Nice' describes your club and bikers?” he asked. “Everyone there is cool, my papa owns the club, he wants me to be the best biker, and I also wanted that” I chuckled, staring at my toes which I used to till the ground.

“Oh, right! I’m so flattered. You’re so sweet, Mr. Babysitter.” Gabriella hugged him and kissed his forehead. He stepped back, but she held his head and hugged him again. “But you know what, I’ll be luckier if you get my bag from the library. I forgot it there. It’s on the third floor. Mwah!”

She realized Xavier saw her in a way no one else ever did. Ten minutes passed. The babies were still active, making Liora sigh in frustration. Xavier reached for a small book on the nightstand. Its cover was blue, illustrated with the moon and stars. “What’s that?” Liora asked. “A storybook. Isabelle left it yesterday.” Xavier opened a page. “Maybe my boring voice will calm them down.” Liora stifled a laugh. “Even I might fall asleep first listening to that.” Xavier began to read in a low, steady voice. Not theatrical, but flat and soothing, like the flow of a river at night. Liora closed her eyes, listening. From time to time, she felt the babies move less, then stir again, then settle.

Bree and Cassidy talked a lot yesterday and she had told her that she'd hook her up with fellow moms in the club. "My son is five years old. We can surely do a babysitting rotation, I'll introduce you to other moms, and we'll talk later. I'm about to go on stage. Welcome, Bree." It was a children's book about a young boy and girl who arrived at an orphanage together and became good friends. The girl, Anna was an adventurous soul who would often get herself in trouble but had Eliot, the boy always there to save her.

Just then, Mamita knocked on the door, “Amelia, I'm off to Gracias's house, won't be back till tomorrow afternoon!” “Okay, Mamita!"
