Neither of us spoke. The music carried memories with every note. Our wedding. Our first apartment. Sunday mornings. Shared dreams. Baby names. Laughter. Promises. I closed my eyes. If I held on tightly enough... Maybe I could stay in those memories forever. The song ended too quickly. Our hands slowly separated. Reality returned. Just like always. --- We resumed walking until we reached the old bridge overlooking the river. The city lights reflected on the water below. Beautiful and peaceful. I leaned against the railing.

After three long years of being shoved to the margins in Aronespire, stepping back into a home where I was cherished was overwhelming. Hot tears spilled uncontrollably down my face.

“Take me back to daddy...” The Ghouls lunged.

Whatever it may have been, Sarah still couldn't understand why she still thought her father was much better at caring for them than her mother. A long sigh escaped her lips as she walked along the road to her destination, the furniture store had given quite the amount for her grandma's vintage sofas that had been waiting to meet their death. Sarah skipped on her toes happily watching the sky slowly become a dark shade of amber just as she had liked, there was content in her heart after all she had gone through, this moment right here was her happiness.
