Night Fury's blade bounced off diagonally to the top right of my view when I blocked it with the scabbard. She then forcefully changed the trajectory of her sword by gripping it two-handed— swinging it horizontally to her right. CLANK! It's heavy…!? Why is there such a big difference between one-handed and two-handed!? "Guh……!" I still forcefully pushed her sword's trajectory upwards. To reduce the backlash, Night Fury takes a step back… BAM!!! …and sends back twice the power with a downward vertical slash. The slash extends all the way that it slices the wall open. "Huff— Huff—!"

"I won't let go." Rhydian smiled through the blood on his lips. "You never have to." The Twin Blades merged into one brilliant white sword. Its light pierced the heavens. The King of the Void looked at the weapon. For the first time... It took a single step backward. "You forged..." Its voice carried something unfamiliar. "...the Blade of Beginning." The Creator smiled. "No. They did." The white blade released a pulse of light that spread across the collapsing world. Dead trees bloomed. Broken stone became green with life. The frightened Gatekeepers felt hope returning to their hearts. Even the widening crack in the sky stopped growing.

“Then what are you here for?” He pulls his hand back out, and there is something in it. Metal catches the low light. He turns it once in his fingers and offers to handle it first. I know the weight of that blade before I touch it. Guild issue. My hand closes around it before the rest of me can object. The balance is clean and familiar and my grip adjusts on its own. “You recognize it,” he says. “How did you get this,” I ask. “It was delivered.” Silence thickens.

"And Mendoza's standard arsenal, I'm guessing." Rick moved to her side and produced a key from a hidden compartment in the communications cabinet. The lock clicked open, revealing a compact but comprehensive collection of weapons, two handguns with extra magazines, a short-barreled shotgun, and various knives. "Iron blade," Rick noted, lifting a matte-black combat knife from its moulded slot. "Military grade, designed for anti-supernatural operations." Casie took it, testing the weight and balance. The handle fit her grip perfectly, and the blade absorbed rather than reflected the cabin's dim light. "This will help against the constructs."

"That's intriguing. I might just take you up on that offer sometime." Xaire, on the other hand, leaned forward, her interest piqued. "You have blades, too? Break them off and focus on one end."
