I stepped behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist, my chin resting lightly on her shoulder.
“You’re beautiful,” I murmured.
She laughed quietly. “That was cheesy, old man.”
Fuck, Her laughter had to be the best sound I had heard in weeks.
We stayed that way for a while, flying above everything, the world, the past. Having an air balloon was an escape for me as well. The world was always so fucking chaotic. Chaos breeds madness and when you're responsible for the lives of millions of people, you can't afford to go mad.
