The financial firm in which he works, he is the main advisor bringing over half of those accounts for the company.” “Really?” I was floored. Anthony knew Malachi Brooks and Brianna were telling the truth. “Well apparently Malachi is the one who was stalking Brianna.” I said. Even the words coming out of my mouth didn’t sound right.

Brook, his actions leaving me speechless. "How dare you!" I shouted, my voice trembling with a mix of fury and disbelief. "You have no right to lay a hand on me or treat my family this way." Mr. Brook's expression hardened, his smirk replaced by a cold, condescending glare. "You think you can come here and demand things from me? You're nothing, Vivian. A nobody. If you don't pay me my money, you're not getting your house keys!" My blood began to boil at his words. This wasn't our agreement for the Goddess' sake! I took a deep breath, knowing anger wouldn't get me anywhere.

With a look of hesitation on Brook's face, he stood silently at the door for a couple of minutes, and then after waiting a few more seconds, he stared at the time on his watch and then knocked. "It is open. Come in," Rome's said with his focus on his phone. The door immediately opened, and Brook walked into the suite, shutting it gently behind him. Then he approached Rome with a folder in his hand, and when he reached him, he rested the folder on the table.

Brook leaned forward slightly, hands clasped between his knees. “Had being the key word, I suppose.” So he was bitter. He was just polite enough to wrap it in civility. "I'm sorry, but are we going to have a problem here. This wasn't my decision." My encounter with Camilla got to me a bit more than I wanted to admit. I was irritated, and about to take it out on him. Brook’s eyes flicked up to mine, the corner of his mouth twitching into something between a smile and a warning.

And Brook couldn't wait to see what information Edwin gave him this time. The door to the room automatically opened, Brook entered and got ready to sit in his oversized chair. Edwin's confidant will come an hour from now. But it seemed impossible for him to wait that long. Brook took off the buttons on the coat he was wearing and threw the object away. That poor suit at a fantastic price landed smoothly on a sofa made of the most expensive leather from Italy. For Brook, the coat with an exorbitant price was nothing compared to the latest news about his younger brother.
