Banned Books Month Novels & Stories

That those things don’t happen anymore. And yet every time there was a festival at the capital, there were always casualties. “I don’t know much about the war,” I say. “I only know bits and pieces.” Yohan flips another page, “This sort of book was banned even for Alphas.” “Can I read it?” Yohan didn’t give me the book.

“I can think of a dozen different reasons you might lie to us right now. All I know is that so far, none of this has made any sense and we are running out of time. We can’t afford to lose a day of strategy for storytime.” Ona’s face falls, her brow creased. I get the feeling that I just disappointed her somehow. “Did you know, brother dear, that this book was banned from court 1000 years ago?” She sets it down in front of us. “It was considered too subversive. Some people saw it as a true gospel, others saw it as a dangerous story glorifying a fallen enemy, and yet Mother gave us both a copy. Didn't you ever wonder why? Why would she give us a present that could endanger us if found by the w

I said wondering where this whole conversation was heading, "I want you to protect her," he said turning his phone screen to me, 'her'? my eyes slowly fell on the screen, a girl with her blonde hair packed in a ponytail sat with a pile of books by her side, she is obviously a nerd even her big round glasses say a lot, she looked fixated on whatever information she was getting from the book that even if an attack was to happen in the room right beside her she may not even know, but something about her made me feel there was more than what meets the eyes, "A girl really?" I asked in a bored tone,

“It’ll be a wasted opportunity if we backed out now.” Emma didn’t have any further arguments, so we started to look through the rows of books, divided by year or occasion. “This is going to take all night, Flora. We need something to narrow it down.” Daphne said after about fifteen minutes of us going through books containing Lunar Rituals. “We need to look for specifics.” “Wait…” Emma came forward. “We are looking for Blood Moon rituals or a Red Moon specifically and Ezra told us directly that the ritual was banned several years ago, right?”

I was done with my touches fighting the inner voice telling me I was doing too much just to go and read in a library where I was banned. Now you might wonder why I was banned, and it's not for the most popular reason. I was a quiet reader. It so happened one day, after I discovered the library in the Darkmoon manor. I went in there to read just like every other person does. My coming into the manor was not accepted by many and the lord over them all was Lucas who still had this resentment against me, back then when we were still younger wolves. I was always fascinated with whatever that was written in a book and it so happened I stumbled upon the art section.

The sound echoed around the room and into my ears, filling me with a sense of warmth and peace o could not shake. “The librarian banned me from borrowing books for a week!” “How does someone even get banned from a library?” I said my heart was still slamming against my rib cage. “That’s what I’d like to know too.” She scoffed, then rolled her eyes. “Can you believe she thought exceeding the borrowing limit was a good enough reason?” “Exceeding the borrowing limit is not something normal people do. How many books did you read?” She pointed accusingly at me; her eyes still light with mirth. “You’re one to talk, crow boy.”

Please don't worry- there are always chances to get glimpses of those smaller moments in more detail in future books or possible bonus stories. Now for the question everyone's been asking. WHAT'S NEXT!!?? I am taking the month of November off from my current series to participate in NaNoWriMo. For those who don't know what that is, I'd like to explain. NaNoWriMo is the National Novel Writing Month. During November, writers from around the world will challenge themselves to start a new project and write 50,000 words in 30 days! This is the first year I'm going to give this a try. I've got a group of other authors who are doing this with me, and we are going to support each other through the p

“Yes. Now tell me, just briefly, what all you’ve read.” “I have a cousin who is a professor of archaeology, another that is a professor of American literature and an aunt who teaches classic literature. There’s also an aunt who teaches ASL, an uncle who gives me an allowance on how many pages I read and another who is the dean over library sciences.” “Well, damn. What have you not read?” “Honestly, not much. Uncle Nate always recommends banned books. I get ten cents per page from my Uncle Owen, so I love the really thick books. And Cheryl pushes the history books.”

Ever since what happened on Mon's 'execution', even though no one remembered a thing, Doctor Bai had asked the king to stop any form of literature in the kingdom. From books to tiny strips of paper as long as it contains a letter or two were burned down to ashes, allowing to legalize it only for the castle's own use. "My books! Please don't do this to my store, sire!" cried an old woman to a soldier who was gathering all the books that she was selling in an open area, preparing to get them burned. She was doing her best to stop them from ransacking her store.

No Nut November month started on a busy note as more students crammed into the library for studying sessions. The reading program for elementary students meant more people were borrowing books they usually didn’t read to collect stars on their reading cards to exchange some prizes decided for the school. Mary sighed. It was a busy week.
