Glorious and gold, spilling through the carved arches of the Moonroom like a long-awaited blessing from the old gods. It dances along the mosaic tiles, each piece catching fire in miniature suns, warms the brass lanterns overhead until they gleam like captured starlight, and settles over the divans and embroidered pillows in waves of honey and liquid fire.

"What is she doing?" Bianca just shook her head, with tears shining in her eyes. "I can't say it, Mia. I just... I wish it didn't activate. It's too horrible and too powerful." Her fear was clear as day. It was very obvious she was clearly terrified of Nyx and whatever dark secret she held that she couldn't say because of the loyalty sworn. The sun began its slow descent, and then, slowly, chillingly, the Blood Moon started to appear in the darkening sky. Its huge, red glow, which usually meant good things and pack celebrations, now felt like a very bad sign.

Logan and I said at the same time. A ghost of a smile touched Nathan's lips. "Still so in sync with your mate, I see. Very well." He took a deep breath. "Three nights ago, I was visited by the Moon Goddess herself." I felt Logan's disbelief through our bond, but I stayed quiet. Something in Nathan's voice made me think he was telling the truth. "She showed me a vision," Nathan continued. "Of the blood moon rising over both our territories. I saw Selene, standing between two flames. One golden, one silver. She had to choose which one to keep burning. The other would go out forever."

“Something smaller. Something that can cross before He does. A feeler. A thorn. A child.” Baylee’s stomach turned, bile rising. “No.” “Listen,” the Moon whispered, sudden urgency flaring in Her voice. “Listen to Me, Baylee Vale. He will send something that is not Him. It will beg.” Baylee’s breath caught. “It will smell like the ones you cannot lose,” the Moon said. “It will use their faces. It will use their voices. It will tell you, ‘just open the door a little, just a little, just enough to let me through so I can stay, so I don’t have to go back.’ It will cry. It will scream. It will tell you you are cruel if you say no.”

And perhaps that was the cruelest part of all. The Bane of Moons was not born a monster. He became one when he lost her.

The main thing was, there was a place like this on Solaris Hold, and nobody from Solaris Hold had ever found it. As you went further in, there was a banyan tree with thick branches and leaves. That banyan tree didn't look like much from a distance, but up close it felt pretty creepy. It was because a cloud of black mist came out from the middle of that banyan tree. As the mist rolled, it slowly formed one face after another, sticking right onto the trunk. Each one either suffered or laughed, their faces twisted, and a chilling resentment came off them. "Hungry, so hungry."

Just to make sure we’re all safe and sound. Mom: (reassuringly) Alright, I’ll pack my gear and head your way. Charlie: (smiling) Thanks, Mom. I knew I could count on you. Mom: (softly) Always. Just remember, the moon is full, and we’re stronger together. Charlie: Don't tell Dad… Yet Mom: Wouldn't dream of it kiddo. Love you. Charlie: Love you too “What did she mean when she said the moon is full and we’re stronger together?” Maya asked.

Children of the Moon Clan are extremely rare. Children born from the Dawn, Sun, and the Sunset Clan are not. It was difficult for the Moon Clan’s females to get pregnant and that is why they aged slower then the other Clans. Fifty years in the Dawn, Sun, and Sunset clan was only twenty in the Moon Clan. But a night between the Moon Clan Princess and the Dawn Clan’s King Janus one night at a party made Princess Luna a target. Having no other choice, Princess Luna gave birth to their child and sent her through a portal into the Human Realm. When she dropped her little baby girl off at the human hospital in Montana, she named her Nyx Aurora.
