Opening the Door

Opening the Door

“They have already been canceled in the system.” “Okay wonderful.” She said as she looked at the small bald man and smiled again. She wanted to throw him off even more. She placed out her hand to shake his. When he looked at her like she was a serpent, she laughed, “Well, it has been a pleasure to work with you.” She began pushing the cart to the doors. “Let us help you with that.” One of the guards said as she continued out the door and then to the elevator. “That was a class act.”

I cautiously creep towards the door. I turn the door handle and peek my head out the door. Low and behold, it was the vamp, Ethan. “ Hello, love. I’d like to speak to your father. My father sent me here to deal with some business between us, “ he says leaning on the door frame. I slam the door. He was dressed in a full blue suit. I was in unicorn pj’s! “ What is it? “ Joe asks concerned. “ Vampire. Ethan. “ I articulate.

Berserker

Berserker

Brand had forgotten what it felt like – the all-consuming need for the blood of his enemies to be spilled on the ground at his feet. Brand shook his head another scream was silenced as he ripped out another throat. The blood dripped from his long snout as he took a breath and looked around him. Leather-clad warriors lay around him, some with eyes open staring at the sky as if looking for the Valkyries coming to take them to Valhalla. Brand snorted. Good luck. He couldn't believe the gods would want any of these followers of a deranged leader in their feasting halls.

The Heiress' Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call

The Heiress' Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call

An ancient and tranquil presence filled with the scent of stone and wood replaced the eerie atmosphere around her. At last, the dense forest ahead began to thin. After walking a few more steps, Aria came to a stop at a towering gate. This was already her second time here. The gate, made of massive greenish stones, rose several feet high. Three robust, ancient characters were engraved on its lintel—Grayburn Sect. Time had etched its mark across the gate, each scar telling the story of countless battles. Despite being weathered and mottled, the two solemn stone beasts still stood proudly on either side of the gate.

I wouldn’t bother reading. The author has dragged this out and made the storyline almost unrecognizable from what it was portrayed. Instead of focusing on the lost child and the reunion with the family they have introduced stupid plots to drag the story on- and on- and on- and on!

the storyline is amazing. Love the FL. She is strong, fierce, righteous and so unaware. Landon is amazing, so supportive and heart warming tho feel sad for him he is unappreciated. Betrothed (Book #6 in the Vampire Journals)

Betrothed (Book #6 in the Vampire Journals)

"I say that ALL THEATRES must be shut down! All idle time must be FORBIDDEN! Return to your houses of worship!” It reminded Caitlin of the people who preached from street corners in New York City. In some ways, nothing had changed. They came to another gateway, right in the middle of the street, with a sign that read “Temple Barre, City Gate.” Caitlin was amazed that cities actually had gates. The large, imposing gate was open, for people to pass right through, and Caitlin wondered if they closed it at night. On either side stood more guards.

Dawn of the Gatekeepers

Dawn of the Gatekeepers

Or at least what she knew. "Three decades ago, we were all together in Paradea, you had been tested by the Collective and passed their test. But the Collective had somehow turned Demonya against us and she did something that caused the deaths of many Gatekeepers, so goddesses created a new army Gatekeepers to aid you. Mated To The Big Bad Alpha

Mated To The Big Bad Alpha

No one answered and there was no sound apart from the unending noise of The Unbidden Army down below. “Is there anyone coward enough to choose the losing side and walk away from me?!” he boomed, looming closer to them. Gia and Cynthia were right behind the masters of the Vrek Cult on the second row but they got the urge to cower away as The Baron advanced. “I am the greatest! I am most victorious! I will win this war and prove that destiny can never be denied even when it is stolen!” he bellowed. Gia held her breath. What was The Baron talking about?

One True Love: A Love Mark Fantasy Romance

One True Love: A Love Mark Fantasy Romance

We were probably only being led into a trap where they either killed us as soon as we entered the gate or threw us in their dungeon before demanding some kind of reward from Father for our return. Tensing as the wheels under us rolled onto the drawbridge, filling the carriage with a different tone—a more ominous timbre—I glanced warily out the window, not liking how trapped I felt. This would be the perfect place for them to launch their attack. When my gaze caught on the barbican we were about to pass through, however, the guards inside it eyed us curiously from both sides, a few even waving with wide, cheerful, goofy grins. I frowned and sat back in my seat. Not very daunting, were they? T

Empress of the World

Empress of the World

Anna urged the mother. The guards regained their footing and drew their swords, some of them wielding them aimlessly at the crowd. Ezer, Zan and Gandr met three of the Blue Guards in a clash of metal. "Push against the gate before it closes!" Zan screamed. As one, the crowd moved against the outer gate, stopping its closure. Two guards still blocked the way, but as they each received an arrow in their thigh, the path became clear. Like a breaking dam, the people flooded into the street outside.

Behind Walls

Behind Walls

On top of the 80 meter tall wall were soldiers that patrol the wall and luckily right in front of them was the west gate of the city. "Wait...are those..." The soldiers who had been patrolling on top of the wall noticed them running towards the wall. "Hey hurry up and signal the gate guards." One of the soldiers on top said to the other soldier. "Please help me, please help me, please help me." Lianne continued on repeating the words over and over. The guards on the gate opened the west gate and soldiers went to their post as the wandering people came one by one to the gate. The first one to arrive was Abdaal, the closest aid of the group leader.
