Those kinds of dreams. I wake up hot and bothered for the third night in a row. I had to get this out. I could go for a run, but I had a better idea. I snuck out to the arena, wearing sports clothes and my hair in a high ponytail. I pick the lock. I enter into the gym. It looks like a typical high-school gym with wood flooring, bleachers and basketball nets. Just what I needed. I grab a basketball from the sports locker and run around the court. Playing imaginary players. I shoot.... nothing but net. The crowd goes wild!

The rush of the boost was going to amplify my dreams tonight, and I couldn't wait. Lying on the ground next to my bed was my modem. I reached down and pulled the thin wire that connected the device to my head. It was amazed at how fast I was moving, driven by the promise that these would be the best dreams that I'd had in about a week. I missed Paige. I felt around to the back of my skull and plugged the cord into my tether port. I felt it click, and twisted it to the lock position. Rolling over and laying my head down to the pillow, I engaged Paige.

He sat beside me and threw a sandwich to my lap "For you, I was looking for you but you're here" "Why are you looking for me?" I asked "We're friends right? Besides, I like hanging out with you more than with them. I can be myself" He said as he leaned to the tree "It's better to be yourself than be someone else to fit yourself in with them" "Yeah but what can I say? I need them to get into the basketball team. It's my dream" "You know you should go for it. Prove your parents that you can be a basketball player. It's not too late"

After teaching their last lesson, the man clapped his hands together, excited about how to make a cheesy topic and spoke to the crowd, " So who is joining in this year's basketball team?" Viona watched as a number of hands lifted up in the air at once. Alaric leant beside her ears to whisper something lowly, " Do you like Basketball ball?" Viona held the urge of whining herself at his voice. Her eyes twinkled in excitement as she made an abrupt statement, " Well..I would love to..But I don't know how to play like a professional." A tenderness flooded through Alaric's expression. He smiled gleefully and offered after a deep thought,

Not for any profession but a woman who got a high-paying job that can buy anything she wants” “That’s a huge dream” “Most people thing it’s huge but someone told me, if you dream, make it big. And there is a quote saying, if your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s too small by Richard Branson. Which is true, I know I’m just a kid for now. But I know I can do that when the time comes. Professionals starts from a kid, right?” “Well said, Miana. I hope you can achieve your dream in no time”

She answered. “How come you don’t have a choice?” I asked her. “Mom got me into a scholarship there since she knew it’s my long-time dream to be in Paris.” She answered. “Where’s the Jaiden spirit?” Connor asked. “Think of it this way.” Connor said. “Remember the times you told us about how you dreamed of waking up there, finding your lover there, etc.” He added. “Take it as an opportunity.” “Connor’s right.” I agreed. “Who knows when you will achieve that dream.” I said. “Always remember that we’re here for you.”

After training, I stormed off the court, pissed as hell. Sweat was still running down my face, but it wasn’t from playing, it was from sitting on the damn bench the whole time. I didn’t even get a chance to step onto the court, not even for the last five minutes. Basketball was supposed to be my future, but right now, it felt like it was slipping out of my hands. My uncle kept drilling it into my head that he wanted me to be a doctor. That was his dream, not mine. I never cared about needles or textbooks or white coats.

I could hear it as soon as I left my house. "Hey man." He said, tossing me the ball. "Can you believe we started doing this thirteen years ago, when we were five." I said and shot the ball at the hoop, making it. "Can you believe that our dreams came true? We're going to be playing at Duke in the fall. It's what we've always wanted." I looked up at Finny's window. I couldn't see her sitting there today. When we were younger and her mom wouldn't let her come out and play, she would sit in that window and watch us.

The word hit him harder than expected. Basketball. For a second, everything else faded. The court. The sound of sneakers against polished floors. The way his heart used to race, not out of fear, but excitement. The dream he used to talk about like it was already real. The NBA. He had told her everything back then. And now… Now it felt like something that belonged to a different person. Lance swallowed, looking away. He didn’t know how to answer that. Ylva stepped closer, her eyes locked onto his face like she could pull the truth out of him if she stared long enough.

Typically my dreams are pretty average, or I think they are since I don’t usually remember them. And this was pretty normal. I was sunbathing by the pool with my brother and cousin Zoe, dishing about guys cause, well, that’s what we do in our free time. André has Zoe and me cracking up mocking his recent lover who claimed he could take a good dicking but bitched out three inches in. But everything took a left turn as André froze midgesture and as I glanced at Zoe, and she was frozen in laughter. What in the world is going on? What is derailing my dream?
