Eden’s POV My jaw dropped open. The crow continued to circle high above. Caw. Caw. It screeched at us in a frantic, frenzied way. “Did you just say…sister?” I whispered back to Beta Brighton. Unlike the rest of us, he was looking up at the crow with admiration. Crows have never been my favorite bird. They’re scavengers and they’re smart. A group of crows is called a ‘murder’. I always found that disturbing. But Beta Brighton gripped my arm. “Please,” he said under his breath.

And they were still after him and the medallion. Kat rushed to assist Calix, picking up a barbed bat from a fallen ally and whacking it against the zombies surrounding Calix. She made them back off just enough to take his hand, but that was when the crows descended on him and began to vacuum him off the ground. Her heart nearly stopped. She wanted to scorch the birds, but the risk of hurting Calix was too high for her to take. She ended up holding onto his arm, not daring to let go even as she dangled down when the crows gained altitude.

Those beaks can pierce skin like blades.” His eyes glaze, as though caught in a trance, almost worshiping the bird in his hand. Then he looks at me. “But you already know this. A gun rested at her waist. The bosses arrived one by one. Tension filled the room. The Santoro boss joked that this was either genius or insanity. Elena said she was betting on genius. The alternative was death. They waited. Silence stretched. Elena watched every entrance. An hour passed. Then another. Doubt crept in. Maybe the information was false. Marco’s voice came through her earpiece. Movement in the building next door. Elena tensed. The Bratva was not using the main entrances.

The black pitchfork was instantly deformed and bent, hitting the Shadow Megabat's chest and sending it flying down from the air like a giant fly. Another beam of light penetrated the billowing black cloud. Soon, the Sun-Swallowing King Crow's scream was heard, and its Thousand Souls Corpse Eradicator Banner blasted into pieces. The black feathers on the Sun-Swallowing King Crow's back stood like a hedgehog. Then, the King Crow fell from the mid-air howling. A few spots on its body were bald, and the shapeshifting demon looked extremely miserable and ridiculous.

His eyes are wide and he looks at a loss for words, like he can't believe what just happened. The crow caws again, and I spin around, waiting for another attack. Todd steps in front of me. The crow studies us with a black, beady eye. He hops to the edge of the table, opens his beak, and caws shrilly again. Todd lobs the book across the room. The book clips the crow, and it takes to the air, flying back into the bathroom and out an open window, disappearing into the night.

White Crow was even overprotective of you.” “I'll Kill You! ” Zitrey only mumbled. With a vein suddenly burgeon her hand and in the forehead, White Crow suddenly flew sidewards and bumped strongly in the wall, when Zitrey aimed at her waist which she failed to block it. I ignore him and turn to bar duty. There are cases of beer and pop under the counter. The newly bought hard liquor is lined up against the back wall. There’s a club emblem on that same wall above the bottles. It’s the same one the club members wear on their vests. It’s actually pretty damn cool, but fuck if I tell any of them that. It’s a crow on motorcycle handlebars with two skulls in front. Desert Crows is written on a banner across the top. The design is in a black circle. It looks ominous, which is what the person who designed it was going for.
