Grasping one he bounds over to the girl as others tried to help her from the crow. With one smack of the broom, Cylester sends the bird flying across the room. It falls ungracefully, trying and failing to right itself. Another hard smack has its neck twisting in an odd angle that lets everyone know it was dead as its body stills. Cylester lifts his head to stare at the wolves crowding the room. "Where did the crow come from?" He asked, voicing his curiosity.

The expression was so mischievous that I couldn't help wondering if she'd picked up some of Fenric's bad habits. Corbin released a long-suffering grumble. Then, before anyone could continue the argument, his body shifted. Dark feathers burst outward. A crow appeared and launched itself into the air. A series of indignant squawks followed in its wake, somehow conveying both wounded dignity and profound offense.

I knew I’d pay for it later. Crow was beside himself, he’d briefly cussed me out for just not marking Dane ages ago but we both knew doing it without his consent wasn’t possible. At least he wasn’t dumb enough to think he could just run into Venom, teeth bared and take throats. That was suicide and helped nothing.

“They are all over the roof of Belle Morte. Goodness, what do these bloodsuckers want?” The guard spoke once again in irritation as one of them held the spear from the base and waved it. He aimed to hit the crow with the pointy side but the super speed of the beast again dodged it. But it was a good distraction and the other guards followed the lead and tried to trap the crow in the round boundary. “My lady!”

And I was about to give up on everything in it's entirety, but it was at this point when I saw the black crow , come right at me. It was the middle of the night and the crow came and sat right on my hand and it's eyes glowed with a red that was frightening.

Naturally, I fled the scene immediately. I was just about to go and look for Archer when he was suddenly thrown out of the mansion by a flow of golden crows. If he hadn’t built an energy shield along his body, he would have been filled with holes by now. Mammon comes out with a golden armor made with golden crow wings, looking pissed off. His nails have golden crow talons that are long and sharp enough for anyone to make ribbons. Something tells me that he might have found the family vault of the Belingham family.

The guys exclaimed and helped the new guy to his feet. “They are here. We have to leave immediately." Azriel spoke just in time as a massive black dog emerged from nowhere and stepped on the frame of the broken door. Its eyes were the deepest shade of black, like peering into an abyss, and its fangs were jagged as he licked them while glaring with a malevolent stare, its claws were the sharpest and didn't belong to a dog because this wasn't a dog; Roxie realized she was staring at a bloody wolf.

I asked Nathan, glaring at him, but he rolled his eyes looking around. “Do you think they are bats?” Rhoda asked as she focused on the redhead they were wearing, their wings looked like a bat. “We are doomed brothers," Addison said, trembling and holding Nathan and my hands. "These are one of the highest ranks of the monstrous demon tribe, they are like bats but poisonous and stronger than a bat," “I don’t know how we got here but trust me, we would get out of here safe, let’s trust and confide in each other.." Nathan explained, his eyes suddenly became fiercely red, his fist burning in the ice surrounding his hands making my eyes widen.

That is, the ancestors of the blood bats were the offspring of a combination of two creatures, bats and dark crows, and they were rejected by the other blood races as a bunch of freaks. The Blood Bats have thus migrated to hide elsewhere, but they are the only ones who can suck the blood of their kind and can drive them into madness and eventually die as a result. They are also reluctant to initiate contact with other Bloods, much less run into the territory of other Bloods to attack so many of them.

We walk around, but that’s all there is other than the smell. “It’s quiet, too quiet.” Ari comments. I realize she is correct. I don’t even hear the sound of birds or any animals. Nothing for miles surrounding the cemetery as if it’s been abandoned by the wildlife. Crows love to frequent cemeteries as they are spies for my coven. They alert us to where the spirits are or where there might be trouble which means there had to be a crow here at some point. Something isn't right. “Something is not right here, Ari. We should go and call my dad. It seems we have a few things to report to him. Let’s go back to the town and talk to some locals.” I stop siphoning her abilities as we walk back to the
