The council chamber was cavernous, its stone walls adorned with banners bearing the crest of Arindale—a golden falcon soaring against a crimson backdrop. Emilia’s footsteps echoed as she entered, the heavy wooden doors closing behind her. The chamber was already alive with voices, nobles and advisors engaged in animated conversation.

His hand comes up—not to grab, not to hurt—just to cup the side of my neck for a second, thumb pressing lightly under my jaw like he’s checking I’m real. “I want you to stop acting like you’re disposable,” he says, voice rough. The words land somewhere deep. I don’t know what to do with them. Before I can answer, footsteps pound down the hall. James appears in the doorway, face tight. “Boss.” Dante’s hand drops from my neck instantly. The softness vanishes like it never existed. “Talk.” James holds up his tablet. “Crows are mobilizing.” Rocco appears behind him, eyes narrowed. Marco hovers farther back, looking like he wants to be invisible.

CHAPTER 58: TRUTH SPELL. Soaring over the city, a crow flew to the coliseum. It perched at the top of the building, adjusting itself as it cawed. It blinked its eyes, revealing a purple coloration. It turned its head from one side to another, as though taking a view of the whole arena, and all that went on within. After a while, it cawed again and then flew off, heading toward a secluded part of Winterhill. It arrived at the old Grayson mansion and perched on a window, letting out a loud caw.

My skin crawls at the thought of baring his disgusting mark. Crow's large toned body is almost identical to Trent's, and that makes my worry only grow. They are as even as my mate was to Gunnar. From the shadowed sky descended a crow, its feathers a sheen of obsidian and ink, eyes burning with something too intelligent to be natural. It circled once before landing before the figure, wings folding

Half an hour later, numerous crows circled tree branches in the drizzling rain at Mount General Cemetery. They occasionally emitted eerie sounds that resembled the cries of lost souls. Soon, this atmosphere was swiftly disrupted by a series of organized and loud sounds, causing the crows to scatter. After scattering and seeking refuge in the distance, they watched with apprehension as a crowd approached them. A thin but upright figure was walking in front, trailed by a group of burly men with menacing countenance.

Here, my crow had purple spots, and this one was pure black. Wait… I gasped at the realization. No way. No fucking way!

I uttered, pointing at Raven as I uttered his name and at Crowden when I spoke his. They are Crow and Raven. Goddess! Two black birds that looks similar with only a few differences in features, and they are both scavengers. Just like them two… They look so much similar, just this Crowden right here looks bubbly and has a softer features compared to Raven’s rough one. Crowden looks more friendly with his all smiles face and the way he talk and make jokes, he and Beta Lufin would definitely clicked and make fun of Raven, that is for sure.

The murder of crows symbolizes death. Martha feels eerie and her voice shakes with fear, "This is a bad sign, do not look at the crows, they might see you and you can be a target of their curse."
