Heat rushed to my cheeks, warming up my pale skin as I realized I was going to have to spell it out for the great, untouchable Batman. "It's just my period," I whispered, shifting slightly and pulling the oversized sweater down over my thighs. "It's a monthly thing. It's just menstrual cramps. I'm fine, I promise. It passes." Damian stayed completely rooted to the spot. For a hilarious, glorious three seconds, the unshakeable, lethal alpha of the estate looked entirely blank. The words *'my period'* seemed to completely short-circuit his complex corporate brain, wiping away the fierce, tactical fury and replacing it with a sudden, rare look of profound realization.

I smirk. His face turns the color of ripe tomatoes and he bites his bottom lip.

“But don’t think for a second that this means I’m okay with it.” Damien smirked faintly, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Wouldn’t expect you to be.”

Axton smirks. “Of course, baby”

He didn't miss the smirk on Ram's face. "Please tell me, what is so funny?" Damon whispered as he rounded on the members, a vein almost popping in his neck as he fought back the urge to smack the smirk off the man's face. "These are someone's fangs. As if the act of taking them weren't despicable enough in itself, you think it's okay to laugh about it?" Damon shouted.

He says with a half fake chuckle grabbing the back of his neck in exhaustion. "Oh so you just became Beta because of your looks and megawatt smile. Give us your damn opinion on the matter or I am going to have to wipe that smug little smile right off your stupid face." I said in my own little Batman voice. Orion and Terrin are looking at me shocked with jaws dropped. Hera is howling in my head. 'That's my girl. Put these men in their places!' I nod to her internally.

Ben Carter said, hugging his knees. Jack closed his eyes, and for a second, the old, arrogant smirk returned to his face. "Good. I was worried it would be boring."

"He can teleport Reed out of danger anytime things get too risky. How do you plan to even reach him?" Damien’s lips curved into a faint smirk, the kind that sent shivers down my spine. It wasn’t a smile of reassurance; it was the smile of someone who already had every move planned out. "I’m glad you asked," he said, his tone laced with a confidence that made me uneasy.

My veins pulsated with a mixture of fear and anger, and my chest felt as if it would burst under the weight of my emotions. A sob caught in my throat, and I choked on it as his hands cupped my face, trapping me in his control. His touch, always suffocating and invasive, now felt strangely gentle. “Sirena,” he called out softly. It felt abnormal hearing him call my name but at most, I was more terrified than ever. Something was wrong. Damian was not one to be gentle or soft. “Get the birds out of here.” He suddenly let out, laughing. “I'm Batman!”

He says smugly. I braced myself up determined to wipe the smug look off his face. I reached out and grabbed the hem of the shirt, my fingers brushed over his warm skin, the smug look fell right off his face as he shuddered slightly. Now it was my turn to smirk. I slowly pulled the shirt off but that turned to be a bad idea because now his perfect body was right above me.
