My heart skipped a beat, my tears moist right then. I dropped to a crouch and held him, pressing my ear against his chest again. I could hear his heartbeat, thumping powerfully through his thin shirt. It was such a familiar sensation. It was Stan's heartbeat. As I closed my eyes, my tears flowed ever so quietly. We stayed like that for a while, and as I wiped my tears, I held Nathan firmly in my arms once more. "Please live a good life with Stan's heart." - Nathan walked with me to the gates of the orphanage, but I never once turned to look at him again.

I put the document away and said coldly, "In the past, I also never thought that the person who told me he'd always place me as the top priority in his heart would keep disappointing me over and over again, and betray me for all the eight years we spent together." I found myself slowly and involuntarily walking toward him. He waited for the perfect moment before charging toward Gideon with the dagger. I gasped in horror as they started grappling with each other. As I watched them, I suddenly rushed forward. "Jovi, why?" The dagger clattered to the ground with a loud clang. Hudson dropped to his knees beside me, holding me in his arms in agony. Fear and desperation filled his eyes. "Hudson, I promised Mirelle I'd take care of you." I slowly lifted my hand, gently touching his cheek. I could feel my soul leaving my body. Looking at Gideon, I begged, "Gideon, promise me. Let Hudson go."

This time, I wasn't gonna let history repeat itself. This time, I was living for me. I said flatly, "It wasn't me, so why should I apologize?" My voice was steady and calm, not weak or scared. The room went still. For the first time, my parents and Audrey looked at me in shock and fear, as if they were surprised that the quiet rabbit they'd kept in a cage all these years had suddenly turned around and bitten them.

Her eyes told him she would sacrifice anything for him. He stared at her with tears filling his eyes. He pretended to be touched. "Why? Why are you so kind to me while others don't care about me at all?" he asked sadly and also gratefully. She paused, staring at him with teary eyes. "Because you already have my heart," she said from the bottom of her heart. He smiled, pretending that he was the happiest man in the world. He caressed her cheek and kissed her forehead gently, making her heart flutter with fireworks above her head.
