The stairs are to her right and she climbs them, leading to a small walkway that circles the room. Dragging her hand beside, she brushes the tips of her fingers against the paper-covered books. Each book on the shelf is wrapped in a thin, tan type of paper with the title and author written on the side. Bella reads the binding covers until she finds a book that stops her in her tracks. I said in pure amazement when I saw what he took out of the bag. Reiner didn’t exactly come across as a bookworm or someone who loved to read. It might turn out to be good news if he loved reading because it was one of my favorite pastimes too; however, I didn’t have a lot of time for it. Reading on the beach was something that I particularly enjoyed for sure. “Yeah…” Reiner mumbled as he handed me a few paperback novels. “Do you like this novel? Are these the kinds of books that you read?” I asked curiously.

Maybe we had moved from that stage of hatred. I just couldn't wait to be lost in the city, and I could read as many books I wanted on the sandy beach, it was the perfect vacation for a book lover. I could just imagine reading on the deck that overlooked the ocean, or settling down in a small cafe near the heart of the city.

He still puckered his lips and furrowed his eyebrows like he used to as a kid when he was focused on what he was doing. I chuckled, making him turn toward me. "Hey, sis. When did you get here? I didn't hear you walk in." he asks, making me roll my eyes as I smile foolishly. I kissed his cheek and sat next to him. "Just now. What are you reading?" I asked, making him clear his throat as he looked at the back of the book and showed me the cover. "Uh, Pound The Stone, by," "Joshua Medclaff," I said, feeling proud. "Good choice," I added, making him chuckle. "So you've read it?"

As my friends continued to enjoy the beach, I found myself lying under a shed with Shraf. The sun beat down on us, but the shade provided a welcome respite from the heat. I clutched my book tightly, trying to lose myself in the pages, but my mind kept wandering back to Shraf. He lounged beside me, his eyes fixed on me as I read. I could feel his gaze on me, and it made my skin prickle with awareness. Mark called out to us from a distance, offering to apply sunscreen to anyone who needed it. Sarah eagerly accepted, and Mark made his way over to her. After he was done he called, "Do anyone else need me to apply sunscreen on them?!"

After she'd taken her bath and was done with her morning routine, Phoebe laid down on her bed with a new novel she wanted to read. She read the synopsis and as the book promised an adventurous journey, she delved right in, inhaling the delicious scent of the new book.

A familiar book for the ride back. Jeffrey leaned closer. “What are you reading?” I didn’t look up. “Philip’s Room by Raven Black.” He looked stunned. “No fucking way! For real?”

and Darin was right. ******************* We got some breakfast at O'Hare and the flight was smooth. We immediately hit the beach after unpacking. We had a couple beers and talked about what our plans were...a lot of eating, drinking, reading and relaxing...not whole lot of activity. I tipped-up a bottle and drained my second beer, looking over at Megan...god damn she was hot. I think the swimsuit she modeled, at home, looks even better on the beach. She was reading articles for a paper she was working on, and I said, "Let's take another walk on the beach."
