I asked softly, “what if he doesn’t want to be in a superhero one? What if he just wants to be… himself? To go to school and hang out with friends?”
Jack smiled.
“Simple.”
He pressed a button, and with another smooth motion, the robotic exterior shifted again—soft panels sliding, fabric unfolding.
The machine transformed into what looked like a comfortable jumpsuit, hiding the machinery beneath while still supporting the body.
“He can run. Jump. Sit. Play,” Jack said. “The support feels as natural as a human body.”
The boy took off running.
Actually running.
He laughed so hard he nearly tripped, then caught himself and jumped in place.
