The EMT lady cried in frustration. “I do not believe our perpetrator is a who. It shows more of a what, from the appearance of this death scene. Perhaps, a male black bear that preys on humans. They are hostile toward people, and whatever did this appears aggressive. It could be anything, although I won't accept this as the result of some human being doing.” The police director reveals this to his subordinates. “If this is an attack of a beast, then we are obliged to keep our eyes observant and ears alert. It could be lurking in the shadows. Stay wide-awake chaps, do not let your defenses down! Have your guns on standby and flashlight focus!” Another police officer shouted.

She was standing in the gunner’s hatch of a heavy scav-crawler right behind the motorcycle vanguard, her plasma rifle coated in the residual, glowing Origin-Code from the Neon Rain. I looked into my right mirror. Pacing the convoy through the dense, glowing blue brush were massive shadows. Origin-Beasts. But these weren't the rhino-sized wolves we had fought when we rescued the Code-Born. These were something worse. They looked like prehistoric big cats, but their bodies were entirely composed of jagged, shifting crystalline muscle that refracted the ambient blue light of the forest. They were incredibly fast, their multi-jointed legs eating up the uneven terrain without breaking a sweat.

This reminds me of the scene back when I turned 18, but somehow this seems a lot more… gruesome. I hear it before I see it and manage to move out of the way of its large paw. “What the fuck is that?!” Kon cries out with wide eyes, but I had no fucking clue this time. The beast looks like a rottweiler but is as large as a fucking grizzly bear, and right now, it has its blood-red eyes trained on me. What the fuck is happening here? Where is Caterina? Movement out of the corner of my eye gets my attention, and I see Fenriz’s Lycan beast jump behind this massive dog and grab it in a chokehold.

“Uh... Then, the workers of the Astra Pavilion are thankful for all of your valuable items. It surprises us and we promise to be careful with it. I promise that you'll enjoy your stay in the private room. ” Hector and Soheila smiled. “Thank you, too. We would surely enjoy.” Soheila could feel the sincerity of the shop attendant. “Oh, the spirit beasts won't attack anyone since I had tamed them already.” Hector reminded again since he could see the fear in the Shop attendant's eyes every time he looked at the spirit beasts behind them. The spirit beasts are the Blue Venomous Snake, Third-Eyed Grey Bear, and Cursed Gorilla. They are rare and Hector coincidentally encountered them in the forest

“That was you?” “Not just me,” he replied, gesturing over his shoulder. He looked past Luca and saw a black panther and a tiger standing side by side. Simultaneously, they lifted their heads and let loose with a howl that made the trees shake. Beecher couldn’t believe his eyes. As he watched, they both shifted and Katalea grinned up at him. “We even fooled you!” she pointed right at Beecher. “But, how?” Beecher couldn’t find the words to even ask the right questions.

His chest still rose and fell from the game, his jersey tugged tight across muscles hockey shouldn’t legally be allowed to build. His eyes cut to the bully trio, cold as the ice behind him. “Touch her again,” he said, voice low and lethal, “and you’ll regret ever being born.” Jessica’s smirk collapsed instantly. Mara swallowed hard. Ally stepped back like he was a wild animal. Funny. Henry had called him a monster minutes ago. Now I was seeing exactly what that meant. Then, as if on cue, the girls snapped out of their fear and flipped instantly into fangirl mode.

Then he would face the embodiment of terror. With supernatural speed, I darted across the street and dove into the alley between the two buildings. Bastard didn’t know he was dealing with an enforcer from the Volkovs, the notorious werewolf mafia, and my adopted family. Few outside of our pack knew we were actual werewolves and we liked it that way. My claws extended and I raked them down the side of the dumpster. I heard his heart rate speed up, and I smiled. “You stole from the wrong person,” I said, adding a growl at the end.

Wyatt The Beast blocked me out as I tried to force my way through the chaos of energy discharging throughout our territory. My panic and distress were nothing to him as he glanced over our shoulder, towards the island, towards Bri, before he pursued his trekking around the swamp. The boys whined in protest, Beau elicited a short-lived snarl before The Beast projected his aura forcing everyone to comply. Heads down, ears slack, tails tucked.

It hurt like a fucking bitch. Alpha Eros never said a word, and I had a feeling that he needed this hug as much as I did. That this hug wasn't as selfless as he tried to make it, and that my mate wasn't.... just beast. That somewhere in there was a human. A human that, at some point, was kind to my brother. A human that is mated to me. A human that I would probably need to kill.

Without a word, Mom quickly threw a glare at me before she went on reading. “Oh, my God!” Piper did it again. “What?” Mom snapped at her. Piper played the video of the news headlines, volume up. “Booker Beaver and his wife, Cali Laurier, have been arrested today by the FBI for the alleged involvement with a notorious foreign organized crime who is known for human and sex trafficking…”
