Moonlight streamed through broken panes of stained glass, painting the floor in fractured blues and reds. I paused at the first mural. Dragons. Not the twisted, fire-breathing monsters from the Purge stories, but creatures of impossible grace—their wings spread wide enough to eclipse suns, their claws curled gently around mountain peaks. One coiled protectively around a wolf pup, its massive head bent low as if whispering secrets.

He gulps the last of his water, crushes the empty bottle in his hand until it scrunches into a ball, then hurls the fisted plastic into the farthest depth of the forests beyond us at inhuman speed. The baritone in his voice drops a notch below. “We’ll end him.” I'm about to ask what the plan will be in detail, when my mind drifts to the date of the next full moon. I have a dragon? A white dragon with pearly white scales. She looked like a creature carved from moonlight and frost. Her body gleams as though each scale were polished porcelain or mother-of-pearl, catching the light and scattering it in soft, shimmering hues. When she moved, the scales rippled like flowing silk, giving the impression that the she carried a piece of the moon on her skin. Her eyes are a piercing, crystalline blue - bright and cold as glacial ice - yet filled with an ancient intelligence that feels both mesmerizing and unnerving. The contrast of its pale, luminous body and those sharp, blue eyes makes it appear regal and otherworldly, as though it was born from winter storms

I scream and cling even tighter onto his spike, closing my eyes. The dragon lets out a whine. I open an eye to see his sad look. He twirls again, but time is much slower. As we bypass clouds, I gain the courage to reach my hand out and glide it across the cloud. I let out a breath of excitement which seems to have pleased the dragon. He soars high above the large mountains and hovers in the air, breathing a large gulf of fire. I laugh at his playfulness and then look down and lose my breath momentarily as I see Moon Crest Castle, and the land toward it that was once lush and beautiful is now dark and dreary.

He puts a tiny box on my palm. "Open it." He nods at the box. I slowly open it to see a bracelet with some charms- wolf, moon, heart, and stars . "It's beautiful." I say and hug him. He takes the bracelet and puts it on my wrist. " Thank you so much." "Your welcome." He says and leaves after a few chit chat. "Hey." Drew says and stands in front of me. His ams come behind me and he takes me in a soft embrace. My body is flushed against him.

And by his side was Selene. She stood there with heavy-lidded eyes and swayed gently back and forth as if she were in a trance. She was barefoot and dressed in a gauzy white gown that billowed through the breeze and her long honeyed hair whipped around her shoulders. The fire's light on her face made her look hauntingly beautiful. "So here we are!" Damion bellowed across the battlefield. "All of us gathered here to meet our destiny!" His deranged eyes scanned the crowd with a sneer curling his lips.

They don't have any preference but to trust this human. David Apsyrtus turned his body so he faced her, He grasped both of her hands. "Each lake in the Moonland has unique properties. I discern them when I touch the water. While I know now who you are, it will not be easy for you. I think you are her daughter, you are the offspring of the last Moon Goddess,the one who will bring an end to this war, besides he also had the ability of fire like you." David clarified. His words were kindness, a concern that was so quick that for her, it was natural. This vigilance was a part of who he was and that was, if she was honest, the most attractive feature she had seen for quite some time.

I wait til I hear feel the cold air drifting into the kitchen and the soft sound of a door closing before glancing into the hallway again. Through the doors glass I could see Embers back to me. The left side of her body was eliminated white from the moon and her hair looked like silver threads as they hung down her back. Creeping towards the door she shifts and a second later a see a silvery gold wolf dashing across the snow, her body low as she ran.

Lizzy mused. “They looked at me as if I was a bug to squash,” Chloe said bitterly. “Perhaps, if they knew your origin, they’d think differently,” Lizzy offered. “Now, tell me about the dragon part. How marvelous to be able to transform into such a majestic beast. How very lucky. Did you know that there is a planet in the Oobla galaxy that has some of the most advanced scientific minds in the universe and these minds are housed within the bodies of dragons? Your Tristan is a blessed soul.”
