Before You Became a Memory

Before You Became a Memory

I asked. “Being pessimistic is entirely different from accepting reality, Mia. Pessimistic people, like you, focus entirely on the negative no matter how beautiful life is. On the other hand, accepting reality, like me, means acknowledging that no matter how good or happy life gets, everything has a strict expiration date. So, until that limit is reached, you choose to be happy. You learn to appreciate what you have. You love what is in front of you because you never truly know when it will be your last moment together. It could be tomorrow, it could be later tonight, or it could be right now.”

Becoming his Salvation

Becoming his Salvation

As my name echoed through the venue, I made my way to the stage, whispering an encouraging mantra to bolster my spirits: "You can do this, Julia. Just another night, another performance." With the flick of a switch, the lights dimmed, enveloping the space in darkness. Suddenly, a single spotlight illuminated me, casting a captivating glow upon my figure. The music started its enchanting journey, reverberating through the room, and the crowd erupted in a symphony of cheers and ecstatic shouts. Facing the wall, I gripped the pole, letting the rhythm guide my hips in a seductive sway.

Meant to be

Meant to be

My mum said she wanted to watch a TV programme so I went upstairs to my room I entered my room and took my phone and saw a message on it. I opened it and screamed. My mum ran upstairs to find out what was wrong. I hugged her tight and started jumping around happily. I stopped to breathe and I realized my mum was scared thinking something was wrong with me. I apologized and told her I got the new job I applied for. She was very happy for me and we both danced. She later went downstairs and I called my best friend Lovia and told her I was accepted for the job. She screamed and congratulated me and was so happy for me.

I Became A Mistress

I Became A Mistress

Cindy raised her cup, grinning like a child. “To new beginnings,” Maya said, her smile one of pure relief. I looked at them and smiled in return. “To ourselves.”

Follow the Instructions

My chest tightened. “That’s…” “Yes.” I didn’t finish the sentence. Because I didn’t have a word for it yet. And maybe. I didn’t need one. I stayed there. Within the flow. Within the system that wasn’t controlled. Within the version of myself that was no longer just one point. And for the first time. I understood something clearly. Becoming more. Didn’t mean losing yourself. It meant redefining what “self” was. And whatever came next. Wouldn’t be about survival.

Become A Better Writer

Become A Better Writer

Reportage[edit] Blogger[edit] Main article: Blog Writers of blogs, which have appeared on the World Wide Web since the 1990s, need no authorisation to be published. The contents of these short opinion pieces or "posts" form a commentary on issues of specific interest to readers who can use the same technology to interact with the author, with an immediacy hitherto impossible. The ability to link to other sites means that some blog writers – and their writing – may become suddenly and unpredictably popular. Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani education activist, rose to prominence due to her blog for BBC.

Becoming Luna

Becoming Luna

Fine. If they wanted a Luna…if they wanted grace, beauty, and spectacle, I would give it to them. Not the version they expected, but mine. I changed the dress. And stepped into one that was brighter, richer and alive with color. It was not me, but isn’t that the point,to be someone else…bold where I had once been cautious, confident where I had once shrunk. If I was going to live like royalty for the next six months, then I would do it fully. I would walk these halls like I belonged here.

Aiza
Almost one of the best. Hence, totally agreed to one of the reviewers chapters leading to the end of the novel less interesting perhaps too much effort in making some catastrophe to the story to put some twist. could have made more effort in making the end not to subtle or too obvious.
Joan Young
Val Sims is one of my favorites. Begin Again is the first of her novels that I read and I loved it so much, I had to read all her other works and I love them also. I hope she continues to write because she tells a good story and her characters are believable.

Becoming Royal

Becoming Royal

I stood in front of the main gate that'll take you to the palace. It's early Monday morning. Abba just drop me by, on his way to the shop. I look ahead staring at the building in front of me. Some part of me is nervous while the other part is excited. Just think about what lay ahead of me makes me a little bit nervous. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and whispers you can do this Nawal inside my head. Opening them I took my very first step towards my bright future inshaAllah

Baited

Baited

The only way to really get approval and attention as quickly as was needed in her line of business was to almost demand it with the way you carried yourself and the company you kept. “Thanks for the beer.” She handed Trish hers and then gave Kade his change. “No problem at all.” He looked down at her beer. “Corona, huh? I would’ve pegged you for a Budweiser girl.” Trisha lifted her Bud in the air and let out a whoop. Rebecca laughed at her friend and shook her head. “I’ve changed a lot, I suppose. You’ve been gone longer than you were here, so I’ve grown from being a little girl with pipe dreams to a woman with plans.”
