I stared at Liam and my lips curved into a smile. " I promise you that everything is going to be fine really soon. What about I tell you a bedtime story?" I suggested, trying my best to cheer him up. " Yes! I would like you to tell me a bedtime story. I always listen to mommy's old same story every single night." Liam's eyes sparkled and I couldn't help it but smile. He looked so happy as though he wasn't sad just a few minutes ago. He laid back on the bed and I began to tell him one of the stories that my mother used to tell me when I was little. I watched as he slowly drifted into a deep slumber with a smile on his face and my heart warmed up.

Then, I lay beside him once he was fully settled and comfortable. “Mommy, tell me a bedtime story,” “Now?” “Yes. It will help me sleep faster. Also, nobody has told me bedtime stories since you left…” ‘since I left to prison…’ I wanted to say it out loud but I didn’t. The tears I’d been holding accidentally fell out of my eye, and I sniffed discreetly. “Of course.” I cleared my throat and began. “Story, story, story time. There was a far, far away land, and a King ruled a nation known as Anthill, filled with so many people who called themselves Anthillians.”

Though she felt a little diffident, she pretended like nothing had happened when she thought about how Tianna wouldn't know better. Sigrid picked Tianna up, while Tianna continued to look at her curiously. She seemed to expect Sigrid to explain things to her. Sigrid rubbed her hair. "Little kids should go to bed early. It's so late already. Mommy will tell you a bedtime story. You should quickly go to sleep." Tianna blinked her big, black doe-eyes. She could roughly understand Sigrid's words, and she caught the keyword 'sleep'. She started to get excited for the bedtime story.

I responded. "I can't sleep while you're awake," she insisted. I smiled genuinely. "Do you have something to keep me entertained?" She pondered for a moment, her expression thoughtful. "Actually, I have just the thing," she said, reaching for a book on the bedside table. "It's a collection of short stories," she explained, handing me the book. "I thought we could take turns reading to each other." I nodded eagerly, intrigued by the idea. "That sounds perfect," I replied, flipping through the pages to find a story to start with.

I picked him off the floor and walked us to the bedroom. "Can't I stay up for five more minutes?" Adrian asked, his beautiful jade eyes shimmering in the glow of his Power Ranger night light. "No, baby, you have school tomorrow," I told him, getting into the bed beside him. "How about a bedtime story?" "Yes!" he squealed excitedly. I chuckled and brought out my phone. After a few pages of the children's book I'd saved on my Kindle, Adrian was fast asleep. Plugging my phone in, I settled beside him, stroking his dark hair away from his chubby face.

As Skylar squatted down in bed, laughing at their tiredness, Andrew and Anna also sat up, resting on their pillows. She said, "Bedtime story, bedtime story. You love to listen to bedtime stories. Do you not?" For a moment, they both nodded their heads. I was standing by the doorstep, close to the point of unconsciousness. I was noticing Skylar guessing that I was still with them; I was quickly becoming lost in their gaze. It was a pleasure to have these adorable, intelligent kids around. I blushed as their lips moved gently, ready to question their mother, but Skylar asked them to remain quiet until she finished telling the bedtime story, sealing their lips with her fingers.

"What killed you, foolish boy? what can you be talking about? But I'll half-kill you if you don't hurry out of this and come to your supper. I really believe you are getting too lazy to eat. The idea of sleeping the whole afternoon under that turtle's belly!" bamboo, not yet fully awake, stumbled out of the tablet room, and his father locked the iron doors. "So, that's the end of the story. You listened carefully, didn't you?" He asked the children. It's still early in the morning for these stories, my god it's so sleepy. "Sister Vee, it's your turn to tell the story!" They said. "H-Ha? What oum, Kuya James first oh, he has a lot of stories with you today." I said.

Once setting the firewood in place, making the dark room glowed through the orange flame and prepared enough heat to keep the small cabin warm all through the night, she sat by his only son, making herself and her rounded belly comfortable in the soft bed. "My son, it is time to go to sleep. Now, what stories do you wish me to tell you? I have many already prepared for you. Is it about a king? Or how vampires or the werewolves come to exist? Or a princess who falls into a deep slip after being prick by a cursed needle? Which one would you like to hear, my love?" The young boy looked like he was thinking rather hard and his eyebrow scrunched, figuring what stories would be good. After a few m

Lucas joined them on the bed, "Looks like our teddy bear is in for some excitement." They continued weaving imaginative tales, laughter filling the room, until Kai finally drifted off to sleep with dreams of daring teddy bear escapades. Eve softly kissed his forehead and whispered, "Goodnight, my little adventurer." Lucas smiled, "Sweet dreams, buddy." As they tiptoed out of the room, Lucas looked at Eve, "Our bedtime stories are getting more elaborate." Eve chuckled, "Blame it on your son. He's got a vivid imagination." And with that, they left the room, leaving behind the peaceful slumber of their little mommy's boy, surrounded by dreams sparked by their whimsical bedtime tales.
