I groaned at the sound of footsteps approaching and a earthly scent with a hint of something like cinnamon. That scent, I knew. It was committed in my memory since childhood, and been alongside me ever since. My Beta. A Beta either follows his Alpha or ends his life. Those are the only two options for a Beta. Bruce said, stepping forward to stand beside me. "If they come again, it won't be any easier," Caroline replied, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
