A war none of us were prepared for. And I knew, deep down, that when the sun rose, none of us would be the same.

He began to shout, "Guys! The lovebirds are here!... Hi senior! Ohh...Hi Sam!" Wil, Blair, Ace and Clara all together walked towards us. I kept staring at them. Senior extended his hands, "Are you ready to?" I nodded and held his hands. We started to run away from them. While we were running, the reflection of the sun on his face... His smiles... When I first met you, I honestly didn't know you were gonna be this important to me. And I was living in my dreams until I realised you are my reality... Senior.

We had been sitting on the edge of it this whole time, utterly oblivious to what lay beneath. The realization hit me like a wave, and my voice wavered, betraying the fear I hadn’t fully acknowledged. How easily we had been deceived—so close to danger, without any of us realizing it.

A treasure for the two of us. Little did we know at the time, we were just in the eye of the hurricane. Because a storm is coming.

The sun had barely begun to rise the next morning when the sound of footsteps echoed through the compound, signaling the start of what we had all been preparing for. The tension in the air was palpable, as though the world itself held its breath. The calm before the storm, the moments before everything changed forever.

She didn’t know the consequences that came with this arrival. Though they were unaware of our hands and my feet being free, the two of us stayed completely still, not wanting them to find out just yet. Things needed to take time, however this time was not on our side, we needed to work fast. It was the night where everything was going to end. Otherwise it was as though going to end.

The shift. The inevitability. This wasn’t a mistake anymore. This was a beginning. And neither of them knew how to walk away from it.

Six days until everything changed. We were still learning. Still bruised. Still afraid. But we were no longer unprepared. And for the first time since this all began, I started to believe we might actually survive it.

The truth was somehow even more ridiculous. There had never been a problem. And apparently... Without either of us realizing it... We were already expecting a baby.
