As Alexander and I explored the depths of our newly acquired mansion, we stumbled upon a hidden door concealed behind an intricately carved bookcase. Intrigued by the discovery, we exchanged excited glances and approached the mysterious entrance, our curiosity piqued. With a gentle push, the door swung open, revealing a hidden library bathed in the soft glow of flickering candlelight. , everyone yells in unison. I stand up and walk out of the room. I walk down the stairs and towards the backyard. I halt when I see a door. I have never seen this door before. I open the door and see an office with books in every shelf. A chair and table with a laptop on it, newspaper beside the laptop. I walk to the shelf in the hopes I see an intriguing book. I see one title, 'What lies beyond'. Catchy title. I will take it. I grab it and the shelf opens. I couldn't see anything because it is dark and smell of dust.

Why am I trembling? He took me to his office after breakfast. It was surrounded by tall shelves made of fine dark wood. The carpet was thick and soft and the city lights flowed over the floors. Without taking his eyes off mine, he pressed a button and the bookshelf rotated round and round and then just opened up. Behind it was a door. He pressed another button and the door clicked open. He stepped in, and I immediately mirrored his actions. I didn't need to be told. In the dim light, all I could see was a normal room with a king's side bed and drawers. Why did he have a room at the back of his bookshelf?

The book remained firmly in place, as if glued to the shelf. I pressed against it experimentally. To my surprise, a soft click sounded, and the entire bookshelf rotated smoothly on hidden hinges, revealing a hidden door set into the wall behind. My heart raced. A secret room? What could Edward possibly be hiding? My wolf stirred uneasily, sensing something important beyond that threshold. I stepped closer, reaching for the handle, my curiosity overriding my sense of propriety. Edward’s private matters were none of my business, but something about this hidden door pulled at me.

The books on the floor continued piling up, and the dust from the books almost killed me. There had to be something—there just had to. My hand closed around a red leather book, and when I pulled it, it didn't come free. Instead, I heard a click. The entire bookshelf shuddered, then slowly swung inward, revealing a dark secret passage behind it. "Oh my god," I breathed in disbelief. "Oh my god, it's real." And right in time, too. The door behind me was cracking—they were almost through. I didn't hesitate. I squeezed through the gap into the passage, then grabbed the bookshelf from the inside and pulled it closed just as the bedroom door burst open.

But then I see it. A doorknob — partly hidden behind one of the bookcases. My stomach drops. What the hell? It’s a door. A full door, tucked behind the shelf like someone needed it to be kept a secret. I’ve lived here for a whole year. How have I never seen this? Why would he hide a door? I glance back toward the exit… then at the hidden door. I choose the door. The shelf isn’t heavy. I shift it just enough to slide through. The door creaks open. And the moment I step inside, I know I’ve made a mistake.

Relieved, I exhaled and nodded for her to continue. She leaned in slightly. “Today, I brought his lunch to his chambers, but he wasn’t there. So I looked around. That’s when I noticed a bookshelf positioned oddly against the wall. I bumped into it by accident, and—” she hesitated, lowering her voice even more, “—behind it, there was a hidden door.” My brows lifted. “A secret chamber?” She nodded. “I peeked inside. He was in there… talking to someone.”

And that scares me even more. Without waiting for my answer, he pulls me to my feet, pulling me toward the back of the room. My heart pounds in my chest as we move through the wreckage, stepping over broken glass and debris. I can hear the sounds of the fight continuing behind us, but Marco doesn’t slow down. He leads me toward one of the large bookshelves that line the wall, and with a quick push, the entire shelf swings open, showing a secret door.

If she had left something here, I needed to find it before Vance did. I was running my hand along a tall bookshelf in what looked like an old study when one of the books felt loose. I pulled it out and heard a soft click. The whole shelf shifted a few inches to the side, revealing a narrow doorway behind it. “Damon,” I called quietly. “Come look at this.”

Walking towards it, I knock on the door but no answer, I knock again and still no answer, so I just opened the door, walking in. Wow.....I am amazed, this office was big enough to contain about forty people, a leather chair and desk were facing directly at the door, a small stairs that goes down, towards a small parlour, a bar by the corner. I walk over to the stairs, carefully going down, the stairs was made of glass. I set the tray on the table. I sigh and lean up, I noticed a bookshelf by the left corner, but when I was about to walk towards it, the sound of the door being open and shut kept me at halt.
