Olivia’s head snaps up too, her eyes scanning the trees. “Do you sense that?” she whispers. I nod slowly. The air thickens, heavy with dread. Then glowing eyes pierce through the darkness between the trees. Wolves. One of them steps out of the trees, it’s fur brown and it’s golden eyes glaring at me. Soon a few more wolves step out of the trees as well. Their low growls vibrate in the atmosphere as the sky slowly turns dark. My pulse hammers as they circle closer. Before I can fight back, one lunges at me, its huge canines threatening to tear me apart. I barely register Olivia’s scream before everything crashes into darkness.

Reaching for the pulley mechanism, I opened it and watched the outside scenery of trees and trees and nothing but trees and oh, the full moon high above the mountains. Then, I saw something in my periphery. A movement. A shadow behind the trees twenty meters away from the building. That would have been nonthreatening considering there were many animals in these parts of the Gundonovian forest. But, as I continued to stare down, I found that there were more of them hiding. Bigger animals. Bigger than bears, and they were definitely on all fours. My heart skipped a wild beat. Werewolves! And they were probably the ones I saw earlier.

Emerging from behind the trees, the wolf signaled grave trouble, and realization struck me. In a swift response, the wolf lunged at me, throwing me back and pinning me down beneath its weight. Its eyes locked onto mine, emitting a sinister gaze, while its low growls conveyed its intent to harm. Just as it attempted to sink its teeth into my face, it was forcefully pushed away. Scrambling to my feet, I crawled towards the shelter of a large tree, observing Ray stepping between us, determined not to let the wolf harm me. The wolf rose to its feet, emitting grunts and preparing for another attack, while Ray positioned himself as a barrier, protecting me from its aggression.

While the poor girl was in tears, begging them, one of the werewolves stopped walking while the others approached Sky, the one who stopped was going to howl, alerting the others. Before he could even make the first sound, a huge shadow from behind him startled the young werewolf. A wolf twice his size appears from the trees behind, a huge wolf with black fur, as dark as the night. The huge wolf gnawed the head of the search werewolf, while the other one looked in fear, an Alpha appeared, and after he decapitated the first one, he jumped and sank his teeth into the neck of the second one, breaking the neck of the wolf clean and fast.
