Carter’s POV The noise in the club is very welcome. I can’t afford the thoughts of a certain someone that fills my head when there’s silence. I twirl the glass in the mind while I scout the crowd. I catch sight of Dom blatantly flirting with a guy in the presence of his fuming partner. Yeah my second in command is bi. But Dom built his reputation well so his coming out was met with little criticism that died down just as quickly as it appeared . Plus I’d kill everyone off before they would dare disrespect him.

I could immediately sense the change in Dom. He never really shifted anymore; only when he absolutely had to. His wolf was huge and a born alpha. Jackson and Dom had tried to shift together many times, but every time they did, their wolves went at it. Jax was an alpha by birth, and Dom was the son of an alpha. Dom is stronger than any wolf I have ever met. He and Jax are both evenly matched, and if Dom shifted now, I guarantee Jax would shift also. They would both be slaves to their beasts in the fight for dominance, and they would tear this room apart.

Dom was two grades above him, but they had been best friends since they were small. Once Dom was a Junior, he got offered a course at some ritzy tech school for carpentry down in Texas. It was something he really enjoyed. He had told Dillon that it was a four year apprenticeship program, but that he would definitely be back to visit whenever he could. Even with Dom by his side, Dillon still had trouble with people. He was self conscious about many things, and he was very awkward. Dillon's family and friends all say he's handsome, and it would make him feel better for a while.

I didn’t let Amelia finish since I really don’t want to be called with my second name. “Dimitri. Nice meeting you and thank you for having me here.” Hannah hugged me and just like with Trixie, I didn’t move an inch. “It’s a pleasure Dimitri.” “Glad you can come.” Christian extended his hand and I instantly take it. I was about to take my hand back when he tugs it gently ang lean towards my ear. “Let’s talk later.” He whispered in a low but with an authority tone. As an Alpha of the strongest pack in this country, I had never felt scared with anything. But it’s weird when I actually feel bothered by just hearing those words.

Lucas went to Domus Malum and searched for his clients’ application. He knew his Father will come at the weak ones, just like what he did to Mrs. Hathaway, but he was also torn thinking that his Father might come at those evil-spirited and use them against him or to other people.

Dom says to me, just above a whisper. Propping myself up onto my elbows, I admit to him, “I can’t sleep. I have just been laying here in bed thinking about tomorrow.” Dom shifted his weight onto the bed at that moment, as he fully turned to look at me, before he says, “Kit, to be honest, I am too worried about tomorrow. I have trained my whole life for battle, but with my father’s contract with Red Moon, there was never a battle for me to fight. A part of me feels like I am less of an Alpha because of it, and that I have been doing nothing but acting as a damn mayor of this town.”

“On your ex. That boy who broke you. You want to make him feel what he made you feel.” My stomach twisted. “And what’s wrong with that?” Zoey tilted her head. “Nothing. Until it becomes everything.” I looked away, heat flooding my face. “You think this will make you powerful,” she said, voice softer now. “And maybe it will. For a while. He chuckled, low and mean, circling me like a shark. "Cute. Real cute. But we are not playing games. Dom has skipped town, and word is, he told his little girl everything.
